Plan and execute a new initiative to reduce the University's overall energy consumption that includes electricity, gas, fuel, oil and water/sewage, on an accelerated timeline. Work closely with in-house staff and contract vendors to oversee a brand-new program to install, manage and monitor building automation systems campus-wide. After taking an inventory of the current systems, create a comprehensive long-range plan to institute new energy saving measures for building HVAC (setbacks, air changes per hour, etc.) that would deliver clear, sustainable and measurable savings. Reach goal of reducing consumption by 10 percent over the next five years would require a holistic approach that would incorporate all University stakeholders - students, faculty and staff - to secure buy-in, obtain funding for multimillion dollar construction projects, and deliver stated goals. Once the program is established and running smoothly, oversee the daily activities of all maintenance and general trade-related work performed by both in-house staff as well as contractors.
