American Express National Bank (AENB) is American Express’ U.S. banking operation serving consumer and small business customers with payments, financing, and savings products. AENB accounts for more than 60% of the overall company’s revenues and net income. AENB HQ drives the administration of programs and services provided by AENB, in partnership with the various businesses, functions and executive officers. The AENB COO Office also plays an enterprise role in driving greater consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency across the first line via its Strategic Planning, Control Management, Program Management, and Governance functions.

The Director, Enterprise Affiliate Management (EAM) Governance, Monitoring, and Reporting will be responsible for the creation and ongoing execution of an affiliate management center of excellence for American Express to ensure consistent adherence to the American Express Management Policy: Third Party Management (AEMP 10), monitor affiliate performance and risk levels, and create and execute board and committee reporting across these areas.

Responsibilities:

Develop a set of standards, procedures, and processes to drive consistency of affiliate management programs across American Express ensuring adherence to AEMP 10 and the Interagency Guidance on Third Party Relationships: Risk Management. Own and set strategy for the Contract Management System that houses American Express’ affiliate agreement inventory. Manage audit and exams from regulators, internal audit, and 2nd line testing functions, including project managing remediation efforts of any findings that may come from those. Work with the Control Management team to define and manage controls within the Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) program. Work with affiliate management and outsourcing governance programs across the company to ensure consistent adherence to standards, procedures, processes, PRSAs, AEMP 10, and the Interagency Guidance on Third Party Relationships: Risk Management. Create and maintain ongoing execution of affiliate management board and committee reporting including a variety of reports such as risk and performance metric performance, gap management, program health dashboard, and the affiliate watchlist.  Also responsible for the creation of the data collection and management strategy for these reports. Create ad hoc board and committee presentations and various other types of ad hoc presentations for senior leaders, auditors, and regulators. Work with the EAM Relationship and Contract Management team on the creation and execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for affiliate agreement owners across the company. Work with various reporting, affiliate management, and outsourcing governance teams across the company to create the processes to collect data/results and consolidate into company-wide affiliate reporting.  Execute this monthly once created. Define and execute affiliate risk assessment process. Lead a team of reporting and governance managers.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to use large amounts of complex data to craft compelling and effective presentations and materials and break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages. Proven ability to proactivity identify areas of potential risk and implement processes to control and mitigate that risk. Strong attention to detail and superior organizational and follow through skills. Proven track record of people leadership building high performing teams and creating followership with experience leading across global markets and time zones.  Ability to effectively work with colleagues across the company including within various affiliate management and outsourcing government teams, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense, regulators, and senior leaders across the globe. Proven ability to focus on innovation and process improvements. Proven ability to drive teams toward high productivity and sustained performance. Adapts well to and initiates change in the organization. Strong written and oral communication skills; good presentation skills with the ability to influence business leaders and partners and understand and communicate linkages across initiatives and disciplines. Ability to translate highly technical and complex information into easily understandable terms and define, analyze, interpret, and report meaningful results. Prior experience with Affiliate Risk Management, Regulation W, and the Interagency Guidance on Third Party Relationships: Risk Management a plus. Undergraduate degree required.  Advanced degree in Business Administration, MIS, Finance, Accounting or related field a plus

 

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
