YOUR IMPACT
The Director, of Enterprise Portfolio Management and Architecture Governance is responsible for overseeing the alignment of enterprise technology initiatives with strategic business objectives through effective portfolio management and governance. This role ensures that technology investments deliver maximum value, adhere to architecture standards, and comply with governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, and experience managing technology portfolios in complex environments.
The role will report to the VP, of Enterprise Architecture and Transformation, and will be pivotal in advancing the overall platform strategy and architecture, significantly contributing to how platform capabilities are architected, developed, and leveraged in OpenText.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Define and maintain the enterprise technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Lead the evaluation, prioritization, and selection of technology initiatives based on business value, risk, and resource availability.
• Develop and implement metrics to track portfolio performance, benefits realization, and value delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of portfolio decisions on business operations and outcomes.
• Establish and enforce architecture governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure consistency and compliance across projects and programs.
• Chair architecture review boards to evaluate and approve solution designs and technology choices.
• Monitor adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within technology initiatives.
• Partner with senior business and technology leaders to understand business needs and develop strategies to address them through technology investments.
• Drive the adoption of governance frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, or ITIL to improve decision-making and accountability.
• Mentor diverse roles across the enterprise (e.g. portfolio managers, architects, and governance specialists. Engage with stakeholders across the organization to build trust and ensure alignment between IT and business objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, including portfolio management and enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in a governance-focused position within a large, complex organization.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
• Proficiency in portfolio management tools and methodologies (e.g., PPM, Agile Portfolio Management).
• Understanding of IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL).
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and their implications for enterprise architecture.
• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, TOGAF, or SAFe for Lean Portfolio Management are highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
