Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Capital, this role is responsible for strategic leadership, process optimization, and governance in managing Nutrien's capital investments.

 

What you will do:

 

Oversight of Nutrien Capital Portfolios, providing strategic oversight and direction to align with organizational goals. Manage the 5-Year Planning Process to ensure strategic objectives are met, steering the development and execution of capital plans. Support risk-based optimization of the Enterprise Capital Portfolio, utilizing risk management strategies to enhance portfolio performance. Drive cost savings within the Capital Portfolio, implementing efficiency measures and financial controls. Ensure the Capital Portfolio complies with established Capital Governance policies, maintaining adherence to regulatory and internal standards. Promote continuous improvement of capital strategies and project processes, fostering innovation and process efficiency. Oversee Sustaining Allocation and Portfolio Modeling, optimizing resource allocation for ongoing project viability. Implement Standard Project Prioritization processes to manage project pipelines and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Manage project resourcing to ensure the availability of necessary skills and capabilities for project delivery.

 

What you will bring:
 

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or business field with supporting professional designation such as P.Eng (Professional Engineer) or CPA (Certified Professional Accountant). A MSc (Master of Science) or MBA (Master of Business Administration) would be considered an asset. Project Management Professional Designation would be considered an asset. 15 years of related capital project and portfolio experience in industrial or retail operations. Previous experience in a capital planning / governance role considered an asset. Solid understanding of Nutrien’s business drivers and operating activities considered an asset. The ability to interface with various levels of management in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment. Strong, effcient Microsoft Office proficiency - Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, proficiency in Excel a must. Systems oriented thinking. Sound, professional judgment and subject matter expertise in relevant accounting and finance matters. Highly detail oriented while maintaining focus on the broader goals and objectives of the team.
