Works with leadership to facilitate prioritization of strategic capabilities aligned to the STRAP, and translate into actionable, measurable projects/programs to achieve long-term success through short-term goals and objectives. Leads key projects/programs, and provides project/program management subject matter expertise to the company’s strategic priorities and key initiatives (programming meet scope, schedule, budget and quality). Works across businesses and functions to lead projects/programs aligned to business objectives, and to utilize continuous improvement methodologies as the foundation for good project/program management. Collaborates with relevant company leaders (Strategy, CI Business System, IT PMO, BU leaders, etc.) to ensure businesses and functions are able to execute their key initiatives and manage cross-functional/business strategic priorities across the enterprise. Successfully executes cross-functional projects, monitoring work status, and delivering regular updates to leadership on project/program status. Monitors progress to ensure scope, schedule, budget and quality align with project targets. Supports Strategy and CI Business System leaders with ensuring their activities align with/drive company goals, objectives, and strategy. Ensures projects, tools, and people are aligned to the company/business strategies in order to support the STRAP.Incorporates change management into all strategic priorities and key initiatives. Influences and leads change, raising team effectiveness and performance.Develops organizational project/program management capabilities through training, coaching, and group and individual meetings/discussions. Drives A3 Thinking throughout the company to significantly improve problem-solving skills.Supports improving project/program management tools, processes, and technology (Strategy Deployment, KPI Management, A3 Thinking, etc.).Develops project/program management subject matter expertise around all tools, technologies, and processes aligned to the Owens & Minor Business System. Focuses on enabling these skills in others throughout the organization.Cultivates an action-biased culture of CI that enables teammates to problem solve and simplify relevant processes through Business System tools and skills.Facilitates Root Cause Countermeasures (RCCM) activity coming out of Strategic Business Reviews, and lead resulting improvement activities. Utilizes Lean Leadership (Visual Management, Daily Accountability, Gemba Walks, Leader Standard Work) as a role model for the company.Ensures project status information (schedules, deliverables, costs, risks, issues, etc.) passes to-and-from key stakeholders. Resolves project resource conflicts in cooperation with key stakeholders.Ensures effective risk escalation processes are used through Strategy Deployment, and that barriers to effective project execution are identified and addressed quickly.Works with business and functional teams to streamline processes to improve business objectives, with a specific focus on profitable growth.Performs additional duties as directed.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in related field (Program Management, Process Improvement, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, Science, Business, etc.); Master’s Degree preferredPMI or PMP certification highly preferred13 or more years of project or program management experience8 or more years of experience working in a Lean based business systemOr any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
