The Anxious Generation campaign is the social impact effort launched on the heels of Jonathan Haidt’s most recent book of the same name. Our goal is to roll back the phone-based childhood and reignite the play-based childhood by driving efficient and lasting change in culture, policy, and behavior. This effort is housed within the NYU Stern School of Business.

 

To support this effort, the Anxious Generation Campaign is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director of Executive Operations to ensure the smooth, strategic, and high-impact execution of our mission. The Director will serve as a critical force behind the success of leadership, providing top-tier executive support, seamless project management, and operational leadership. They will provide principal management and seamless functioning of leadership’s schedule and manage access to Professor Haidt and Alexa Arnold, the Campaign’s Executive Director. The Director will ensure seamless coordination of meetings, speaking engagements, and travel. They will also provide detailed project management support to the campaign that contributes to the campaign’s strategic growth, efficiency, and overall impact, including monitoring key initiatives, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and next steps are clearly defined and executed. They will also support fundraising and donor relations by planning events, managing follow-ups, and assisting with donor communications. The Director will establish the operating systems of the office, refine and enhance internal systems and processes, such as document management, tech tools, payment workflows and manage budgets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment—someone who is highly organized, proactive, and skilled at balancing high-level strategic initiatives with meticulous attention to detail. 

Qualifications


The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in executive operations, public affairs, communications, fundraising, program management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to thrive in complex, fast-moving environments, managing multiple priorities with precision is required along with strong project and program management, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong ability to anticipate needs, collaborate effectively across teams, take initiative, prevent bottlenecks, and implement solutions proactively is also essential.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,00 to USD $150,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
