Job Description:
Role Summary
The objective of this role is to develop and expand the Family Office (FO) businesses and refine SLHK’s FO strategy based on the success and lessons learned from the initiatives launched to date. This role will report directly to the Chief Partnership Officer and work closely with the 3 sub-channel heads—MCI, HNW and Local & Overseas. This role will also work closely with our business partners, including brokers, SFOs/MFOs, external asset managers, wealth managers, etc. to understand our client and distributor needs and provide feedback to the internal taskforce and/or relevant functions
Job Responsibilities
Build connections with SFOs, Multi-Family Offices (MFOs), External Asset Managers (EAMs) and ecosystem partners in Asia and the Middle East and where applicable, introduce their businesses to strategic/UHNW brokers
Continue to educate FOs and FO ecosystem partners through training and networking events through organizations like Campden, HUBBIS, Wealth Briefing and Quorum to raise awareness, build Sun Life’s brand as a UHNW/FO-preferred insurer and explain the role of HNW insurance in intergenerational wealth transfer and legacy planning
Scout and negotiate partnerships with EAMs (with or without existing insurance brokerage licenses) to extend SLHK’s reach to UHNWIs and FOs
Collect market feedback, understand/gather the needs of FOs in terms of insurance solutions and complex case structures, synthesize and funnel these asks to the EODB committee for internal assessment and approval
Continue to refine SLHK’s FO strategy, gather market/competitor intelligence and adopt a test-and-learn approach in capitalizing the FO opportunity
Job Requirements
University Degree holder in Bachelor of Arts or Science
Posses at least 15+ years of HNW and Ultra HNW Sales and Wealth Structuring experience
Proven experience in HNW Ops/Case Management
Strategic thinker, high agility and able to build relationship with partners
Excellent communications in both spoken and written English, candidates with language proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin would be a plus
Excellent presentation skills and strong client focus mindset
