Reporting to the Vice President of Retail FP&A, the Director, Retail FP&A Business Partner, North America Field Operations is a key strategic member of the Retail Finance department supporting the Retail Operating Segment and leading the North America Operations Finance team.  This role is responsible for preparing, monitoring and evaluating plans and annual budgets, leveraging the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) function, reviewing or conducting analysis on major projects or business ventures, and analyzing performance against established financial targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

 

Our vision as a Financial Planning and Analysis organization is to be the “insights engine” of Nutrien Ag Solutions; this means closely partnering with the commercial operating segment leadership to provide data-driven financial analysis and insight to guide planning, forecasting, capital allocation and decision making.  We are looking for a candidate who is an effective leader, innovative, and able to adopt emerging data technology tools to elevate FP&A processes and capture efficiencies.

What you will do:

 

Provide continuous, day-to-day partnership and support to our operating segments in executing the business and facilitating critical, decision-useful management reporting, insights and analytics. Serve as the single organizational point of contact for our operating segments to collaboratively access expertise from across the finance organization more broadly, as needed. Accountable for the annual budget as well as the monthly and quarterly forecast for the North American Nutrien Ag Solutions Retail operating segment and communicating results with Senior Leadership. Partner with Retail operating segment commercial leadership to provide financial insight on business performance and capital investment decisions. Provide leadership within the Retail Finance organization, as well as mentorship and development of the Regional Finance Managers and supporting team. Evaluate performance to identify performance trends and opportunities for business optimization; developing recommendations to further enhance financial performance. Supporting the long-range North American strategic financial planning process in close collaboration with the commercial operating segments and the long-term planning finance team.   Support enhancements in FP&A processes, reporting and systems by leveraging technology and tools in collaboration with our Corporate Decision Support team. Provide actionable insights on financial and operating results and set key performance indicators to ensure sharp organizational focus on critical value creation priorities and levers. Conduct actionable financial analysis on go-to-market strategies, fleet management, network optimization, as well as incentive compensation programs.  Apply effective people leadership skills leading team through performance management, career development, and budget management. As a leader in Retail Finance, foster engagement through Clarity, Competence, Influence, & Recognition. Provide support and feedback to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks. Communicate company and functional goals, core values, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Coach members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that get results. Set clear team goals, evaluating progress along the way, allowing teams to work collaboratively to reach targets.

 

What you will bring:

 

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required, MBA or equivalent preferred.  15+ years of related accounting or financial experience, with at least 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in a large multi-national company. Previous experience working on large, highly complex projects with significant business impact. Knowledge of North American agriculture markets an asset. Professional accounting designation preferred (CMA/CGA/CA/CPA). Knowledge and experience in operational, financial, and legal entity accounting.  Excellent financial systems acumen and information technology mindset and orientation required. Ability to work cross-functionally and across operating segments, balancing the requirements of the corporate office and Retail. Operational Excellence and performance improvement mindset. Ability to proactively collaborate across finance groups to achieve cross functional success. Able to see the bigger picture, having an overall view of impacts across the business including systems, management reporting, processes and workflows. Persistent, determined and resilient, with a very strong customer service orientation.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 
 

Salary Range $154,400 - $286,700/annually.  This range is estimated for Director, Finance, North America Retail Field Operations in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
