The Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) seeks to be our customers’ most trusted partner, by providing innovative diagnostic solutions that improve patient outcomes.
The division is seeking an experienced dynamic Business Unit Finance Director to lead our Clinical Diagnostics Reagents (CDR) BU. The business is global and has US-based team spanning 6 direct and indirect reports to provide operational, commercial, controlling and business finance insight. This global role includes full P&L management and directly supports the GM of the business unit. This role is ideal for a leader seeking an impactful high visibility role getting results and business transformation passionate about driving profitability and customer satisfaction.
How will you make an impact?
Actively drive BU performance towards goals via strong business partnership and practical data-backed insight.Lead AOP / QBR in a complex financial setting, ensuring financial decisions align with company STRAP / AOP and current market conditionsEnsure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reportingBuild and develop an impactful finance team passionate about results and partnershipDevelop and deploy long term capital and utilization models and influence commercial funnel and deal modelingProvide valuable decision support, via comprehensive business analysis and models tied to meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to accurate decision-makingAbility to translate financial and non-financial revenue and marketing metrics into meaningful operating plans to support commercial leaders in driving the businessIdentify and drive financial improvement operational in key operational areas including manufacturing absorption.Optimally communicate financial results to broader organization and senior leadership, draw insight from analysis and develop compelling, synthesized recommendationsOperate in strong alignment with the other supporting functions (i.e. Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, PPI, Procurement) to constantly improve the operational efficiencyEducation
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related field required; CPA, CMA, MBA advantageous
Experience
Strong preference for life sciences or diagnostics proven experience, especially with contract manufacturing environmentExcellent credentials and strong finance abilitiesPrior experience in a global company and matrixed organizationProficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and multifacetedKnowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated experience applying curiosity to uncover insights and differentiated outcomes where others could not.Highly skilled in use of information technology including SAP ERP and Hyperion Financial Management, knowledge of relational databases.Solid working knowledge of GAAP with public company / corporate finance experience.Well-developed analytical skills, including solid background in driving actions from data insights and using strong analysis to present a situation to management.Self-motivated with a high level of flexibility and work ethic to get the job done.Ability to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of profit drivers and understand market forces and their impact on future business prospects.Continuous improvement: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and data visualizationBenefits:
