The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller to manage our local Indian entity and support group activities. This individual will play a pivotal role in building out a Center of Excellence (CoE) and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the General Ledger (GL) team, and be involved in driving the culture of the  Accounts Receivable (AR) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, team leadership, and process optimization, with a proven track record in supporting complex financial operations and ensuring compliance.

What You’ll Do 

Entity Management: Oversee all financial operations for the local Indian entity, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. Manage the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. Handle Monthly TDS and GST filings in India. Oversee the preparation and submission of annual income tax returns and reconciliations across entities. Group EntitySupport: Support the global finance team in group reporting by contributing to various preparatory tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Assist with data collection, reconciliation, and other necessary processes to facilitate group reporting and consolidation. Ensure alignment with US GAAP and corporate policies. Center of Excellence (CoE) Development: Lead the development of a Center of Excellence to centralize and optimize key financial processes across AR, GL, and other accounting functions. Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the CoE. Accounts Receivable and General Ledger Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application. Manage the General Ledger team, ensuring accurate and timely entries, reconciliations, and financial close processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing, payment, and general accounting issues. Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team across AR, GL, and other accounting functions, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and accountability. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners. Act as a key point of contact for finance-related matters within the local entity and the broader organization. Other work as assigned by your manager or leadership.

What You Bring 

Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification with a strong financial management background. 15+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a multinational corporation. Proven experience in managing financial operations, supporting group reporting, and leading accounts receivable and general ledger functions. Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, tax regulations, TDS, GST, and income tax compliance requirements. Excellent leadership and team management skills with a focus on building high-performing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in financial systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
