Your New Role...

The Director, Franchise Management & Marketing develops worldwide strategic Franchise Plans and executes global marketing activations for WBDGCP across the Classic Animation and HBO portfolio, under the leadership of the VP, Global Franchise Management & Marketing. They will develop programs that drive brand awareness and relevancy as well as communication and marketing tools to achieve collective goals.  The Director, will collaborate with Category, Sales, Creative, Product Development, Legal and Business Planning, GBP and territory teams to drive financial targets and innovation.  Additionally, the will work in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery divisions and across Warner Bros. Discovery globally. 

The position calls for strategic, innovative and creative thinking, continuous planning, and exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.  Position includes direct oversight of one Manager and one Associate level employee and shared oversight of one Sr. Manager.  The position also authors all plans and oversees the development and execution of supporting tactics for assigned Franchises/Properties.  Role serves as the WBDGCP day-to-day liaison for assigned Franchises/Properties with Franchise Development; HBO; Warner Bros. Animation (WBA); WB Theatrical Pictures and members of these respective teams, among others, to ensure WBDGCP priorities are achieved in a cross-collaborative fashion.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Develops, manages and presents GCP Franchise Plans, Marketing Activations and Brand Guidelines for assigned franchises. Marketing plans to include: campaign objectives, strategies, tactics, retail thematics, sell in tools, marketing programs, KPIs and associated budgets.

Identifies and brainstorms unique ideas and executable programs to drive innovative franchise plans.Works to develop cohesive and synergistic plans across all disciplines within WBDGCP (Retail, Sales, Creative, Product Development, etc.)

Drives the following activities for assigned franchises:

Oversees day-to-day management of franchises.Ensures that all franchise plans and marketing activations are designed and implemented to meet specific measurable goals (short term and long term).Coordinates with all WBDGCP departments to develop cohesive initiatives, including but not limited to promotional activities, trade and/or consumer promotions, advertising and other activities.Works with Category teams to identify incremental business opportunities and to increase sell-in and sell-thru of licensed products.Works with regional/territory teams to ensure brand placement and presence at retail is maximized.Works closely with international offices to support regional implementation of strategies and marketing activations.Delivers all plans and tools worldwide according to established operating model.Participates in key licensee meetings, when appropriate.Partners with Category to support global licensees and develops best practice strategies to support global and local partners in all categories. Recommends and implements market research where appropriate. Manages annual budget and quarterly financial reporting on expenditures.Builds and maintains relationship with applicable colleagues in sister divisions to establish a reliable and timely flow of information and materials related to assigned properties.Works collaboratively with category, creative and sales to determine creative strategy and needs for applicable properties.

Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience          

Minimum 7-10 years experience in related field required.Brand and/or Franchise management experience required.Minimum 3 years experience in managing agencies and 3d parties.International business or marketing experience preferred

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

Bachelor’s degree in related field required.MBA—is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency required.Effective and proven management and interpersonal skills are critical.Must have sound understanding of strategy development, marketing principles and brand management.Must have a clear understanding of the dynamics and needs of licensing.Must have effective communication and presentation skills.Must be well organized with effective and proven planning and follow-through skills.Solid knowledge of social media with clear understanding of digital marketing and E-comm landscape

Other Requirements

Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and remotely (e.g., telepresence, video conference, etc.)Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.Must have the ability to organize, schedule and prioritize work effectively.Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.Must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks.Fluent command of the English language required

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
