Barry Callebaut’s Global Strategy team is a small, highly specialized group that sits at the heart of the BC Next Level strategy. This team advises our CEO and the Executive Leadership Team on the long-term strategic direction of the company, and it guides strategic initiatives of major significance. This team broadly focuses on three areas: Organic growth, Inorganic growth and Value creation.
By being part of the Global Strategy team based in the Global HQ in Zurich, you will be at the center of the world’s largest chocolate & cocoa company during the execution of a wide-ranging business transformation while the chocolate & cocoa industry navigates historic disruptions and makes a significant shift towards a more sustainable future. We are currently looking for a Director of Global M&A to join the Global M&A team. You will work closely with the Head of Global Strategy to define and execute our inorganic growth agenda around the globe. You will be responsible for identifying and assessing inorganic opportunities (incl. acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships) for their value creation potential. You will ensure end-to-end deal execution. You will play an integral role in building a corporate M&A function that aspires to create significant value for the global organization.
Key Responsibilities include
Support design & execution of the inorganic strategy of the Group across the globe
Work with regional teams to track & convert global opportunity pipeline
Support assessment of strategic fit with qualitative & quantitative analysis
Lead end-to-end deal execution – from project management, due diligence coordination, business plan development, valuation decisions, to negotiation & documentation
Drive successful due diligence outcomes through close partnership with regional & functional teams across the business
Develop written reports and deliver in-person presentations
Advise on transaction integration strategy and implementation
Track & assess inorganic developments in relevant markets
Build & manage global network of external M&A relationships
About you
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a leading university in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Liberal Arts
Minimum of 10 years experience in M&A at an investment bank, within private equity or corporate development
Experience of managing the full life cycle of multiple M&A deals
Interest in the consumer goods industry is valuable
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written)
Effective communication style

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
