The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a seasoned Director of Global Project and Product Management to join our team. The ideal candidate will be high-energy, a visionary, an agent for change, and strategically focused. We are looking for a leader who will transform our Project organization from ‘Project’ to ‘Product’ and ‘Agile First’.  They will manage both our project and product management teams globally, ensuring strategic alignment of our products and successful delivery on a global scale.

Global Project Management Continue to build the PMO center of excellence, that includes a governance structure which ensures all projects/programs are using the same PMO processes and have appropriate steering Oversee and direct the project management team worldwide, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope. Develop and implement project strategies, plans, and procedures on a global level, setting performance requirements and managing project risks. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors globally for the flawless execution of projects. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to monitor the progress of project implementation. Establish and maintain relationships with all stakeholders across different regions, and effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner. Ensure all Digital & IT projects adhere to the highest quality standards. Build the agile strategy into the project management organization blending the ability to execute both waterfall and agile projects within the portfolio Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Manage project demand and related project management resource requirements Oversee the design and implementation of project management processes that support the efficient and effective scoping, management and delivery of projects Periodically measure process performance and implement actions to improve the function’s ability to effectively and efficiently manage IT projects Develop and implement workforce strategies that ensure the PMO has the right workforce, in the right place, at the right time and cost to meet project demand
Ensure project management processes are in full compliance with internal and external policies, guidelines and regulations Measure IT and business partner satisfaction with project services and implement actions to address improvement needs and opportunities Measures and communicates program progress and impact and makes timely decisions to take action to address issues and anticipated risks

 

 

Product Management and Agile

 

Develop the overall strategy to transition from waterfall to Agile for the D&IT group, promoting Agile methodologies and best practices within the team. Create an ‘agile first’ mindset. Lead, manage and mentor the Agile product team, fostering a collaborative culture that drives product development. Work with cross-functional teams, including the UX organization, to implement effective product strategies. Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure a unified product vision and user experience. Own the product strategy and roadmap globally, ensuring that it aligns with the company's goals and market demand. Defines activities, responsibilities, critical milestones, resources, skills needs, interfaces and budget for projects, using structured project management methodologies (such as agile techniques)   Experiences/Education - Required Proven experience in project and product management roles on a global scale. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in developing Agile strategies. PMP, Prince2, PMI-ACP or similar certification. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT, MBA preferred 15+ years of experience in project management with a proven track record of successful project delivery The ability to develop high performing teams Project experience global in scale, spanning multiple businesses with significant impact to a number of employees Strategic thinker, with the ability to influence and develop long-term strategies Expert ability to impact and influence project outcomes Strong financial management skills to manage project budgets Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

 

Travel
• Approximately 25% domestic and international

The range for this position is $192,836.00 - $265,150.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
