Director, Global Tax Planning & Operations
Position Overview:

The Director, Global Tax Planning and Operations reports to the VP, Global Tax and will oversee a team of tax professionals responsible for Global Planning and Tax Operations for subsidiaries located outside the US. What You’ll Do:

This role will oversee Global tax planning and operational tax requirements of non-US subsidiaries covering 30+ countries. Operations includes governance over transfer pricing, income tax compliance, statutory reporting, and tax accounting analysis required for the non-US subsidiaries. Planning includes modeling and strategy for US international income tax, local non-US income tax, and OECD Pillar 2. The company operating structure is decentralized with several finance organizations and multiple ERP systems. For this reason, effective collaboration with the tax technology team and the local finance teams are required to ensure necessary data is available with high quality and timeliness for the overall process. Your role includes the following:

Servant Leadership: With an inclusion and diversity mindset, lead and develop the team responsible for Global tax planning, income tax operations for non-US subsidiaries, and transfer pricing. In addition, the role is expected to welcome contributions and foster collaboration from across the global tax function. Business Advisor: Develop a strong understanding of the operating companies; develop relationships with key contacts and stakeholders (internal/external) to ensure a coordinated approach for impacts driven by changes to tax law or the business. Global Tax Planning, M&A Activity, Strategy & Forecasts: Responsible for all tax considerations related to business transactions and tax planning, this role will need to leverage expertise from throughout the global tax organization and external third-party advisors (as needed). This requires the ability to ensure collaborative input and guidance from subject matter experts covering many elements of US taxes (e.g., tax accounting, US international taxes, pillar 2, state, transfer pricing, sales/use, customs/duties, etc.). Technical Resource: This role is expected to have demonstrated experience in global tax planning, cross-border analysis, and statutory requirements of the United States. For all other countries, using a network of advisors, the role must monitor proposed and newly enacted legislation, regulations, rulings, and court cases which may impact to the global tax position of the Company. This role must have working knowledge of US International transaction rule and regulations covering topics such as E&P, PTEP, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, CAMT, FTC, Pillar II, Section 197, Sections 987/988 (FX Gain/Loss), and US tax Basis Non-US Income Tax Operations: Responsible for the completion of quarterly and annual inputs related to local income tax, return to provision true ups, and tax positions required for tax provision reporting under ASC 740.  Responsible for governance of all non-US income tax filings, inquiries, and audits. The global accounting team will review local statutory accounts and income tax returns to ensure global planning transactions are reported correctly. Certain combined filings are the direct responsibility of the global planning team. Transfer pricing responsibilities include documentation, review of operational transfer pricing results, and planning to adjust pricing to align with global transfer pricing requirements. Resource Sharing: The US Tax Operations team includes tax professionals who support US Tax Operations and other tax professionals in the global tax team. This role will be required to effectively plan for the use of shared resources by peers on the global tax team who support operating companies.

Grow your subject matter expertise across tax through research and analysis for our ever-evolving business. Be supported in efforts to continue your training, stay current in tax developments, and establish yourself in the tax community. Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting, finance or related field Master’s in taxation or accounting, preferred CPA certification, preferred 10+ years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in income tax, including progressive experience in income tax roles for multinational corporations. 3+ years of functional leadership within the tax organization of a large multi-national company Skills & Competencies Experience with tax software (e.g., CorpTax), MSFT Office Suite, and data efficiency tools (e.g., Power BI Platform, Alteryx). Demonstrated success of servant-leadership and development of a team Demonstrated leadership and ability to champion and implement process changes with a cross-functional impact to drive organizational change. Demonstrated expertise in relevant tax law, regulations, and legal rulings related to US International taxation.  Demonstrated ability to translate complex income tax concepts / requirements into actionable strategies. Demonstrated ability to articulate facts and conclusions at a high level in addition to a willingness to explore statutory guidance to fully consider potential tax outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Strong communication skills with ability to interact with effectively with external stakeholders and senior management throughout the organization. Results-oriented, technically-curious, and values effective collaboration. High level of integrity and a commitment to upholding professional standards.
