DIRECTOR, GRANTS & ORGANIZATIONAL GIVING |

REMOTE / HYBRID IN BALTIMORE, MD


Reporting directly to the System Director, Grants & Organizational Giving, the Market Director Grants & Organizational Giving manages all aspects of fundraising from private foundations, government grants, corporations, and/or other grant- awarding bodies. Identifies, cultivates and manages the relationships with key institutional funders. Responsible for submission, reporting and pre/post award activity of funds granted. This position oversees the market grants team and is responsible for performance management and hiring potential market grant staff. This position works collaboratively with local and ministry-wide senior Foundation staff and executive leaders to develop the strategies that support the Market's strategic plan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Establishes a cohesive strategy, protocols and processes instituting best practices to support market grant activities Manages external relationships to position system for successful funding by public and private institutional sources.Secure grant support from government sources, foundations and corporations that require grant proposals and applications by researching, developing application and budgets, writing complex narratives, and managing grants from government funders as well as cultivating, soliciting, writing proposals, and stewarding grants from private funders.Facilitate interdepartmental and interdisciplinary teams at market level for each segment of grant cycle, including application, award, program and expenditure monitoring, reporting/compliance and evaluationCollaborates with System Director and Grant Professional team to identify and secure system level or multi-market grant opportunities.Provides education and technical guidance to clinical administrators, medical staff, foundation team, and others as appropriate in relation to preparation and submission of grants and monitoring of awardsWorks closely with Foundation Solutions Group project directors and operational performance team to monitor all grant-funded program activities, expenditures, and reporting. Working closely with Foundation Solutions Group and other staff to ensure all grants and contracts meet institutional, local, state, federal and sponsor guidelines, rules, policies and laws, especially 2 CFR 200Works closely with operational performance team and Project Directors to monitor and ensure grant-funded programs activities and expenditures are tracked and report appropriately.Other duties as assigned by System Director of GrantsThis document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal arts, public relations, marketing, communications, business or a related discipline7 years related experience is requiredOther Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredDemonstrated success in identifying, cultivating and securing private and public foundation, government and corporate support. Proven critical thinking and strategic planning experience. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with senior level executive experience. Demonstrated level of accomplishment in discerning fundable programs and appropriate matches with funding sources. Demonstrated success in personally cultivating, soliciting, stewarding, and closing major and defined fund gifts from institutional funders. Demonstrated ability to effectively represent the Foundation to external audiences through the use of strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Knowledge of research tools techniques for identifying institutional funding opportunities. Knowledge of compliance issues and legal requirements of restricted organizational grant funding. Strong editing skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage, budget and forecast contributions and related expenses required. Passion for the mission and enjoy leading and collaborating with a development staff and working with volunteer boards. A strong work ethic with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

PREFERRED

Master's Degree in Liberal arts, public relations, marketing, communications, business, or a related disciplineGrant Professional Certified (GPC)Experience in healthcare successful grant procurement and philanthropy is strongly preferred.Experience using Raiser's Edge, online directories of funders and/or other fundraising software.Many of our opportunities reward* your hard work with:
