Job Description
As Director, HIV Prevention Direct-to-Consumer Marketing, you will be primarily responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation and optimization of the HIV Prevention DTC Media and Measurement plan and will report directly to the Senior Director, HIV Prevention DTC Marketing.
This role is based in Foster City, CA, requiring on-site presence three days a week; remote or off-site work is not permitted.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of strategic and tactical media plan for the US HIV Prevention Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Team
Ensure media strategy and measurement plan align and support overall marketing strategy
Partner with Branded and Unbranded leads to design an effective media and measurement plan, leveraging optimal marketing mix, to drive business goals
Develop and implement media strategies focused on reaching and engaging diverse Consumer populations who may need or want PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)
Demonstrate command of traditional and innovative marketing channels, including but not limited to TV, digital, audio, social media, print, point-of-care and out-of-home
Work collaboratively with cross functional partners to define and implement key performance indicators based on business goals
Serve as lead for Media agency and manage media performance and optimizations on an ongoing basis
Leverage multiple data sources including media measurement, media benchmarks, and market research to uncover emerging needs and opportunities
Keeps up with current and anticipated changes in the healthcare landscape, in HIV prevention/PrEP therapeutic area, and with Consumer marketing trends and make recommendations to adapt plans based on insights
Set priorities in circumstances of continued complex and evolving requirements and provides logical recommendations
Develop and deliver presentations to a range of internal stakeholders and external audiences
Effectively coordinate across multiple agency partners and internal stakeholders in the production of media tactics within timelines and on budget
Closely manages creative budget, agency personnel time constraints, and timelines
Gains approval for marketing materials through internal review process including management reviews and Med-Legal-Regulatory. Secures final approval
Works well cross-functionally with broader Marketing Team, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Market Research, Digital Strategy, Analytics, Public Affairs and other key internal stakeholders.
Sets a positive example for others to follow – shares own expert knowledge – models standards of performance, offers guidance and support
~25% travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare/health & wellness industry experience
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related fields: MBA or Masters preferred
Deep understanding and experience in media planning and performance measurement & optimization required
Demonstrated excellence in Consumer/Patient marketing fundamentals, promotional strategy, and commercial policies and practices
Background in marketing/media agency experience desired
Knowledge of HIV and HIV Prevention category experience desired, but not required
Demonstrated excellence in project management including planning, prioritization, execution, analytical assessment, and performance management
Firm command of financial management and expense budget planning and tracking
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with various team members
Excellent communications skills with an ability to effectively communicate both orally and written
Basic understanding of biopharmaceutical regulatory and business conduct requirements.
Must possess an aptitude for creative thinking and problem solving
Must be able to adapt and thrive within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proven ability to work well as part of a team
