Director, Imaging Informatics - Medical Imaging Informatics - Full Time

Summary:
Reports directly to the AVP, responsible for the financial and operational management of the Medical Imaging Informatics Department within the Division of Medical Imaging. The position and the direct reports provide system administration, project management, and operational and technical support for all the imaging information systems in The Guthrie System. This position is responsible for the coordination of resources and personnel for the development and maintenance activities of all hardware and application software. Digital image management including PACS archive, distribution and routing systems, project management within the information systems and digital imaging environment, technical support of all information and digital systems within The Guthrie Medical Imaging Enterprise.
Education and Certifications:
+ Bachelor of Science in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Medical Imaging)
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), Project Management Professional (PMP))
Experience:
+ 10+ years of relevant work experience in medical imaging informatics or a related field
+ Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams and large-scale projects
+ Extensive experience with PACS, RIS, and other medical imaging systems
+ Strong knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines
+ Experience with strategic planning and execution

Essential Functions:

+ Promotes clear and consistent communication to the medical imaging end user community and other division’s technical and operational personnel of the strategic and operational directions relating to information systems and digital image management throughout TGC.
+ Provides and directs informational/technical resources for the division in information systems, digital computing, workflow analysis, and general project management.
+ Directs and manages the technical and personnel resources in all information and PACS related projects. This includes performing analysis, evaluation, justification, and technical assessment of the business operations, imaging distribution and routing strategies, and hardware configurations pertaining to specific projects throughout the medical imaging enterprise. This includes applications software standards, operational policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to image acquisition, routing, distribution, archiving, and all medical imaging information systems.
+ Performs analysis of the enterprise’s PACS related hardware and software environment relative to new technologists and operations initiatives.
+ Develop support and maintenance structure for projects as they are brought into production including documentation defining support tasks and training programs.
+ Assists other departments and divisions staff and management in making operational and financial decisions in regard to image viewing, routing, and archiving.
+ Works with vendors to proactively strategize development and/or enhancement of imaging information system solutions to meet organizational business needs.
+ Acts as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and value measurement of informatics strategies to support quality patient care and professional practice.
+ Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
+ Develops and executes career development plans for medical imaging system analysts.
