Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Institute (IBDI) Operations
**Job Description** The Cedars-Sinai Inflammatory Bowel Disease Institute (IBDI) in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Director to oversee operations and implement the IBDI vision. The vison for IBDI is to create a world free of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases through world-class clinical care, excellence in translational research and promoting collaborative efforts to discover lasting solutions for patients. Working in a hybrid (mostly on-site) model reporting to the Executive Director of the Institute, the Director of Operations for IBDI is responsible for managing and expanding Institute capabilities to fulfill IBDI objectives. **Position overview** : The Director of Operations will lead the operational management of IBDI, implementing solutions to enhance organizational structure and governance, driving the acceleration and expansion of IBDI’s core goals. Oversee, manage, and expand IBDI’s research infrastructure, including the MIRIAD Biobank and data repository. **Responsibilities include:** + Lead IBDI leadership in executing the strategic plan. Foster collaboration and communication within the Institute, the Institution, and with external partners to effectively achieve IBDI’s deliverables. + Guide leadership and faculty with grant management. Promote synergies and strategies within the Institute to enhance extramural funding applications. + Oversee the recruitment and integration of research faculty. + Develop and refine biobanking protocols to support scientific programs in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), leveraging cutting-edge genomics, molecular platforms, and data-driven research. + Establish and enforce standards for generating high-quality, multi-modal datasets. + Direct the implementation of database management and data distribution solutions across IBDI. + Establish modern practices for large-scale database curation, integration, and standardization. + Develop and lead long-term biobanking strategies, monitor emerging technology trends, and maximize biosample utility for reusable and shareable data. + Drive the integration of biobanking and patient databases to provide services and consultation to IBDI and research partners. Facilitate cohort design for focused translational initiatives, accelerating innovative precision medicine efforts. + Oversee MIRIAD Biobank and data management, ensuring sample and data traceability, integrity, and accuracy through rigorous quality control and tracking processes. + Lead the reconciliation and harmonization of diverse datasets within the Biobank, including clinical metadata, imaging, and multiomics data, ensuring interoperability across the Institute. + Ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance by maintaining adherence to institutional, state, and federal regulations, particularly concerning human subject research and ethics. **Preferred skills:** + Proven experience in managing a biorepository, biobank, or translational shared resource, or demonstrated expertise in overseeing complex sample collection initiatives, including multi-site or consortium-wide projects. + Strong understanding of current omics and molecular technologies, along with experience integrating these technologies into biobanking protocols. + Knowledge of latest automation techniques for biobanking, biospecimen processing, and management. + Previous research involving large datasets including clinical meta-data and omics technologies Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is one of the largest and fastest-growing non-profit academic medical centers in the U.S. Discovery is a core value to Cedars-Sinai’s mission. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package. Pay Range: $165,547-$450,008 Total Cash Compensation **Qualifications** **Qualifications include:** + Doctorate (MD or PhD) with greater than 10 years’ experience in translational (bench-to bedside/ bedside-to-bench) research. + Proven management experience in complex academic, industry, or multi-site/multi-disciplinary environments.Working knowledge of grants and contract administration. + Exceptional leadership abilities, with a proven track record of fostering a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment. + Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. + Master’s degree in operations management, project management, strategic management, business management, or similar experience is desirable. **About Us** Cedars-Sinai is a leader in providing high-quality healthcare encompassing primary care, specialized medicine and research.
