Gray Architects and Engineers, LLC is looking to add a Director, Interiors in our Lexington, KY Office.

Qualifications

Who we want… (Requirements)

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail and AutoCad applications. May require knowledge of applications specific to the project assigned. Must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Must be physically present in the assigned office.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

 

DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION

Demonstrate and Promote Core ValuesConfer, work with and support other AE Directors, Project Directors and Project Executives.Participate in the development and implementation of Department Strategic Planning and Improvement Initiatives.

 

STUDIO ADMINISTRATION

Coordinate studio functions.Direct and coordinate appropriate administrative tasks.Timesheet and Expense Report review and approvalApproving PTOMentoring / Challenging individual team membersTeam Member ReviewsTeam Member Project Assignments / Resourcing

 

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION

 

Proposal and Pre-Proposal Phase

Assist on Proposals as needed for RFP’s both for Interiors and Furniture selections or budgets for pricing, including space planning and furniture layouts.Assit in validation on square footage estimates for Interior Finishes.

PROJECT SPECIFIC:

Continuous collaboration with Project Management Directors and Field Operations Directors.Monitor projects to assure Gray AE standards are followed.Accountable for implementing Gray and Gray AE Processes.Responsible for selection and specification of all interior finish materials specific to Offices and Welfare Areas and any other areas identified by the Project Team and the Customer.Prepare documents, renderings and other visual communication for Customer presentations.Work with Customer Branding Teams to include Brand elements into Interiors solutions.Responsible for high level of detail for key areas (project specific) and may include Branding areas, Reception desks/spaces, specialty lighting or art installations.Responsible for identifying, elevating, reviewing, discussing and resolving project issues with VP/SVP, AE; Project Director, Project Executives or BUMAccountable for QA/QC ProcessResponsible for review of design documents in accordance with the QA/QC Plan.Assist and/or engage with AHJEngagement with Customer / Review MeetingsAccountable for ensuring shop drawing review in accordance with project schedule.Responsible for conducting periodic Site Visits as warranted

 

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and Mentor new and less experienced team membersPromote interaction with Industry representatives and oversee the Interiors Resource LibraryCoordinate with other AE team members for CEU opportunities and internal learning discussions (GRAY U and the like) Interiors FocusedWork to establish and improve Interiors specific processesSupport internal work for Gray Inc locations and projects as needed.Other duties may be assigned.

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

 

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required.

                                                 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises numerous team members such as Architecture Technicians, Assistant Design Managers, and Design Managers.
