Your Impact
Create and deploy assurance methodologies to support the company’s annual assessments of internal controls over external reporting, manage assurance resource planning, design and lead external reporting related assurance activities, deliver effective reporting regimes, establish program quality assurance processes and KPIs, and develop qualified staff.
As Part of Our Team You Will In collaboration with the Controller's SOX 404 Program Office and the External Auditors, develop and implement a global methodology to support the annual SOX 404 testing of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) for both design and operating effectiveness.Develop and implement quality and performance measures to ensure consistent and effective application by internal and external team members.In collaboration with the ESG external reporting team and the External Auditors, support efforts to support the design, documentation, and testing of internal controls over external reporting for both design and operating effectiveness.Develop Process and Oversee the Maintenance of SOX Testing Documentation: Develop and implement methodologies to ensure all SOX testing supporting workpapers and documentation are complete and organized, and in compliance with the Controller's SOX Program requirements. Ensure consistent and effective use of global methodologies and approaches by the global team.Develop and Implement Technology Solutions: Oversee the use of technology-based tools (eg. data analytics, AI, automation, etc.) to optimize SOX testing efforts, identify trends, anomalies, and areas for further investigation. Develop and implement prescribed approaches to be used by the global team. Ensure consistent and effective use of global methodologies and approaches by the global team.Develop and Implement Status Reporting Methodology: Develop reporting methodologies and templates to communicate periodic testing and deficiency status to be implemented by the global team. Support SOX Program with final annual report of assessment findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Support Group Head with summarized updates and reporting to senior management and the Audit Committee. Ensure consistent and effective use of global methodologies and approaches by the global team.Develop and Implement Deficiency Management: In collaboration with the Controller's SOX 404 Program Office and the External Auditors, Develop and implement methodology to report on the status of identified deficiencies through remediation and closure. Develop and implement periodic internal reporting on status to senior management. Ensure consistent and effective use of global methodologies and approaches by the global team.Develop Team and Stay Updated on Industry Best Practices and Standards: Continuously update knowledge of SOX and ESG reporting assessment best practices. Continuously improve testing efficiency thy and effectiveness trough technology and training.Develop Annual Resource Plan: In collaboration with the Controller's SOX 404 Program Office, the External Auditors, and the global Internal Audit team, develop and implement an annual SOX effort resource plan, considering the use both internal and external resources. This plan should optimize the balance of resources allocated to the annual SOX effort against other audit plan commitments.Prerequisites for Success in This RoleProblem Solving Ability:

The salary range offered for this role is USD $146,250-204,750. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
