Who You Are and the Impact You Will Have:
As the Internal Communications Director, you are a strategic leader with a passion for internal communications. You excel in creating and executing communication strategies that engage and inspire employees. Your ability to work closely with various internal stakeholder groups ensures that the company's brand, mission, and values are clearly communicated. Your efforts will foster a strong sense of community and shared purpose among our teams across the U.S. and Europe, contributing to a cohesive and vibrant organizational culture.
What You Will Do:
Develop and implement data-driven internal communications strategies that align with QTS’s overall goals and objectives, including ensuring employees are engaged about our business goals, workplace & community impact and equipping leaders to take an active role in communicating with their teams.
Partner with people services, community impact, and other teams to advance key messages, including proactive stories, updates and roll-outs that impact employees in the U.S. and Europe.
Lead strategic planning of internal communications content and manage a broad array of internal channels including email, newsletters, intranet, videos, meetings, and live forums.
Manage the internal communications calendar to support employee touch points and planned activities, including culture-building campaigns.
Develop guidance and process for the QTS intranet, growing this channel as a source of truth for all company news and information.
Develop and execute CEO and Executive team communications and visibility plans, including talking points, presentations, memos, and other related content.
Lead change management initiatives and communications planning and implementation, including people leader engagement.
Manage issues and crisis with cross-functional team to ensure timely, accurate and ongoing communications internally.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding for proactive and ongoing communications; manage internal communications guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Promote and attend special events/functions as needed; communicate corporate milestones and activities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including Blackstone, company leaders, partners, vendors, and customers.
Actively track and report data findings on employee sentiment to identify opportunities to better position the company.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Ten or more years of experience in communications, including leading internal communications.
Demonstrate strong communications skills through excellent oral and written communication in accordance with Associated Press style guidelines and creating compelling content.
Nice to Have:
Experience managing Sharepoint intranet and Microsoft suite.
Experience counseling clients and/or internal stakeholders on communications strategy.
Experience managing team members on executing internal communications strategy.
