**Job Summary**
The Office of the Dean in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is seeking a Director of Internal Communications and College Engagement. The Director of Internal Communications and College Engagement will provide strategic communications leadership to the Dean and senior leaders within the Office of the Dean in LSA. This role will develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, and supervise staff and resources to support the office communication goals. The ideal candidate will be a sophisticated and seasoned communicator with organizational acumen and a proven track record of supporting leadership through effective, high-level written content. This person must have a strong understanding of a liberal arts education and possess knowledge of the changing strategies and landscape of higher education.
We are looking for candidates willing to work a hybrid work schedule with four days onsite and the opportunity for one day of remote work per week. The target salary for this position is between $160K - $180K.

**Responsibilities***
+ Develop and implement an internal communications strategy, including crafting talking points on college-wide messages, college policies, executive summaries, reports, newsletters, and other materials.
+ Advise senior leadership on communication strategies across diverse topics, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with college and institutional objectives.
+ Manage internal communications activities, prioritizing content and outreach materials in collaboration with leadership, LSAs Marketing and Communication team, other communications professionals across LSA, and the universitys Public Affairs office.
+ Serve as a primary liaison for formal correspondence from senior executives and oversee complex communication projects and tasks.
+ Execute integrated communication strategies to enhance the colleges reputation, highlight achievements, and manage ongoing communication efforts.
+ Ensure that all materials align with university communication policies and best practices.
+ Supervision of an administrative coordinator and/or project manager.
**Required Qualifications***
+ Bachelor degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience.
+ At least 8 years of experience in executive-level communications, with a strong ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.
+ Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages under pressure and within tight deadlines, including written, visual, and electronic communications.
+ Demonstrated experience creating, developing, and implementing long- and short-term strategic communication tasks, plans, and programs.
+ Strong judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
+ Experience in shaping institutional narratives to promote key achievements.
+ Experience in a highly decentralized organization and/or proven ability to navigate a large, complex organization.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication, judgement, and active listening skills.
+ Experience with supervision.
+ Ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
+ Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition, and conflict resolution skills.

The position requires on-campus/in-person work from the Ann Arbor campus with some time working remotely, based on operational needs.
