About the team:Rover’s International Business Team is responsible for driving revenue and profits growth across 9 countries: Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe which includes Spain, Germany, France and Italy. During the course of 2025, Rover will enter 8 additional new countries in Europe which will also be managed by the International Business Team.
Rover is structured with global functional teams, meaning that teams like marketing, product, finance, etc have responsibility for all countries including international countries. The International Business Team is responsible for setting the strategy for int’l countries and then partners with all the relevant functional teams to drive execution and results specifically for international countries.
Who we are looking for:Rover is looking for a Director of International Growth to join our growing International Business Team in Barcelona, Spain.This role will own delivering Rover’s new customer acquisition targets in all international countries and will report directly to the Senior Director of International also based in Barcelona.As a people leader, you will manage 1 direct report located in Seattle, USA and coordinate with cross-functional teams located across Spain, the UK and the US - especially the marketing, analytics, product, and finance teams.
* This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Barcelona Office in the Poblenou neighborhood two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in Barcelona or willing to relocateThe key outcomes owned by this role will be:Set and achieve new customers acquisition targets and marketing budget for international countries across performance marketing, brand marketing, and product marketingDefine and own multi-year new customers acquisition strategy & roadmap for international countries aligned with marketing, analytics, and product stakeholdersDrive new customers conversion rate improvement strategy & roadmap for international countries aligned with analytics and product stakeholdersKey Responsibilities:Set International new customers acquisition targets and set marketing spend budgets, in partnership with the finance team.Define and deliver the International new customers acquisition multi-period strategy & roadmap (incl. OKRs) across performance and brand marketing and product teamsDrive country-specific go-to-market strategy including performance marketing approach, brand building & category buildingDefine and deliver city ignition strategy, roadmap, and investment frameworkPartner with localization team and product/UX teams to drive international conversion rate improvements, including international checkout strategyPartner with UX and user research teams to drive international user research strategy that drives actionable insights to accelerate new customer growthImplement effective business rhythms to track progress against key metrics for performance marketing, brand marketing and brand health, SEO, word of mouth, conversion rates across the acquisition funnelManage, and develop direct team and cross-functional teams responsible for international new customers acquisitionMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degreeAt least 10+ years of working experience in either growth/performance marketing, general management, or program management rolesAt least 5+ years in a people management or leadership rolesUnderstanding of B2C performance marketing and conversion rate dynamics across the B2C funnel in online businessesExperience managing all-up strategy, targets and budget for new customer acquisition across multiple channels (paid and organic, performance and brand) and countriesExperience successfully working with software-related product, UX and analytics teamsClear and structure written and verbal communication style coupled with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and diverse teams to drive towards critical decisions and deliver outcomesStrong decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously in a shifting and highly ambiguous environmentHighly proactive, ability to flourish with minimal guidance,, and enjoys operating in uncertain and ambiguous business environmentStrong leadership skills and experience in giving actionable feedback and coaching to direct and cross-functional team, and welcoming of the sameAnalytically savvy with enthusiasm for forecasting and measuring the impact of the initiatives you drive and the metrics relevant to your business areasComfortable working with US timezones especially Seattle, Washington (Pacific Time)Strong command of the English language (minimum C2 level).
