Director, IT Recovery and Resiliency Services
Job Description
Job Summary
The Director of Disaster Recovery (DR) will oversee and manage Disaster Recovery related to the Information Technology (IT) organization's technology services to all customers working closely with the Network Operating Center (NOC) and Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) Team. This role is primarily responsible for Disaster Recovery activities supporting the overall Business Continuity Management process, by ensuring that the required technical and services facilities (including computer systems, networks applications, telecommunications, technical support and Service Desk) can be recovered within required, and agreed, business timescales. The functions covered by DR are: 1. Development, 2. PMO, 3. Testing, 4. Maintenance, 5. Service Training, 6. Awareness & Communications. This role includes leading a matrixed team that delivers IT Disaster Recovery to all employees.
  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Coordinate and track the DR activities across IT and the Health Plans.
• Responsible for development and coordination of IT Disaster Recovery Planning including:
- Create the DR vision, mission and life cycle methodology.
- Participate in periodic Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process and understand business driven Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
- Determine technical dependencies and develop recovery strategy solutions.
- Support defining and implementing the technology architecture and operations.
- Develop and implement the Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Administrate the management activities of the DR function that involves the following:
- Coordinate and maintain the DR budget.
- Compile and manage periodic DR status updates and reporting.
- Coordinate and maintain DR related Third-Party Vendor agreements.
- Support DR related audits, Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Continuous Improvement Program.
• Manage the DR Exercising/Testing activities IT and the Health Plans including:
- Design testing types, activities, materials and schedule.
- Coordinate, conduct tests, evaluate and report test results.
- Participate in the After-Action Report process and remediating identified issues.
- Update testing and DR documentation.
• Responsible for DR maintenance of the following:
- Refine the DR components of the Business Impact Analysis (BIA).
- Evaluating Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) vs. Recovery Time Achievable (RTA) and. Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) vs. Recovery Point Achievable (RPA).
- Update and implement the annual Disaster Recovery Plan and Run Books.
• Manage DR training program including the following:
- Develop and revise DR training content.
- Management of the annual DR training program and conduct training.
- Coordinate and report the DR feedback.
• Conduct DR awareness and communications:
- Develop and revise the DR communication strategy/plan.
- Create and revise the DR communications.
- Administer DR continuous awareness program.
• Work with other internal teams and Third-Party Vendors to deliver DR services that meet internal Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and customers Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Responsible for the DR operating expense and capital expense budget.
• Provide consistent leadership and direction for direct reports by taking the time to manage, support and encourage individuals in their work environment..
  Job Qualifications



Required Education
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or engineering or equivalent experience required.
Required Experience
• 5 – 7 years of IT Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Planning related experience.
• Technology implementation and support experience in VMWare, Microsoft AoA, Microsoft Cluster including Microsoft Azure, Disaster Recovery as-a-Service (DRaaS), ServiceNow, etc.
• Excellent understanding of project management principles and experience in managing multiple projects.
• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to quickly build rapport and gain the respect and cooperation of both technology and business leaders.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
• Action oriented and driven to achieve results in a positive manner, displaying ethical behavior, integrity, and building trust.
• Excellent leadership skills required, as well as the ability to lead and work as part of a team.

Preferred Experience
10 years + of IT Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Planning related experience.
