Director, Market Development & Launch

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Market Development and Launch to drive new market growth, lead go-to-market (GTM) initiatives, and spearhead strategic launches in the telecom industry. This role involves market analysis, product positioning, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful entry into new regions, product categories, or customer segments. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in telecommunications, exceptional analytical skills, and a data-driven approach to developing and executing strategies that expand market presence and revenue.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new markets and revenue opportunities in alignment with company growth targets. Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to assess potential, size, and unique characteristics of target markets. Develop and refine market entry strategies and business cases, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives. Lead GTM planning and execution for product and service launches, including timeline development, resource allocation, and coordination with stakeholders. Define, communicate, and oversee key performance metrics for GTM campaigns and launches, ensuring optimal ROI. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless alignment and execution of GTM strategies. Define positioning, value proposition, and messaging for new products, ensuring resonance with target audiences and different competitive markets. Work closely with Product and Marketing teams to tailor messaging and launch strategies for different markets. Oversee launch readiness initiatives, coordinating training, materials, and resources to empower sales teams and partners. Identify and establish strategic partnerships to accelerate market entry, drive revenue, and expand product offerings. Negotiate and structure partnership agreements that align with the company’s strategic objectives and enhance market presence. Manage ongoing partner relationships and ensure mutual benefits and successful outcomes. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members involved in market development and launch initiatives. Establish strong relationships across departments to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture. Present findings, market insights, and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and investments. Oversee the field marketing/ launch team to create marketing strategies to drive customer and revenue growth at the local level. Work in conjunction with the corporate marketing team to improve brand awareness in our market areas. Research and development of market driven pricing strategies to ensure that we are competitive from market launch through to maturity. 

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred. 10+ years in market development, strategy, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the telecom industry. Deep understanding of the telecom landscape, market trends, and regulatory environment. Proven experience with GTM planning, execution, and new product launches in telecom or similar industries. Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from market data and translate them into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in presenting to executive teams. Proficiency in project management and cross functional team coordination.
