General Summary
The Director of Network Engineering and Network Operations Center (NOC) is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support core organizational functions. The Director will lead a team of network engineers and NOC staff, driving strategic initiatives to enhance network performance, security, scalability and efficient communication.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:Lead and mentor a team of network operation engineers and NOC personnel.Develop and implement strategic plans for network infrastructure and operations.Ensure continuous improvement of network services and operations.Network Operations:Oversee the implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.Ensure network reliability and redundancies meet organizational requirements.Manage communication and scheduling of network projects, including upgrades and expansions.Network Operations Center (NOC):Oversee the 24/7 monitoring and management of network systems.Ensure rapid response to network incidents and outages.Develop and maintain NOC procedures and protocols.Performance and Security:Ensure network performance meets organizational needs.Conduct regular network performance and security assessments.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with other IT leaders to align network strategies with business goals.Communicate network status, issues, and plans to senior management.Foster strong relationships with vendors and service providers.Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.10+ years of experience in network operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Ability to cohesively direct remote team members.Strong knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and technologies.Experience with network security practices and technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Available after normal business hours when required.Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CISSP or equivalent.Communication of network KPIs and reliability Experience with network monitoring solutions (Zabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios)Excellent at SLA and incident management Knowledge of automation and network management tools.Working Conditions
Employee remains in the sitting position for prolonged hours. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
