Director, Nonqualified Plans, Client Solutions

As a Director in WTW’s Nonqualified Client Solutions team (retirement, nonqualified defined contribution and defined benefit), you will be consulting with large clients on strategies to align their retirement programs with business objectives and goals. Experience & skills associated with nonqualified design, trends and funding options / strategy are an important focus in this role.

The Role

Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement, actuarial and compliance consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement plans. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension, a defined contribution plan, or nonqualified plan, we work with them to determine the right approach to design, funding, investing, governing and employee engagement that fits their specific goals.

The Nonqualified Clients Solutions team within WTW’s Retirement line of business provides defined contribution and defined benefit nonqualified consulting on topics including: new plan design, existing plan redesign, benchmarking, informal funding, operational compliance, plan termination, vendor and administration services. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business, leading and delivering large, strategic client engagements and serving as strategic advisor to clients concerning their nonqualified plan retirement plan issues.

Have primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy to penetrate the local and regional markets and introduce new clients to the firm through new business development of nonqualified plan consulting (both DC and/or DB). Coordinate with existing retirement teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target accounts Lead and manage multiple client engagements Finalize and present quality deliverables to clients Establish a trusted advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management Lead large nonqualified consulting solution client engagements Build leveraged teams that work effectively together Ensure project managers are maintaining team progress against established budget, timeline and quality standards (while you have overall responsibility, consultant level staff typically serve as day-to-day project managers) Serve as nonqualified plan strategist and subject matter expert on client assignments Perform technical review of work products Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches related to NQ consulting including intellectual capital and surveys Oversee Analysts and Consultants in the delivery of nonqualified projects

The Requirements

Bachelor's Degree 12+ years of experience in retirement benefits industry and/or consulting to large companies Expert knowledge, experience and success delivering nonqualified plan solutions to corporate and not-for-profit organizations (e.g. plan design and compliance issues, plan terminations, informal funding alternatives, legislative and regulatory requirements (409A/ERISA/IRS/DOL) and plan administration While extensive nonqualified DC and/or DB knowledge is necessary, experience with qualified plans and executive benefits is an added plus Proven ability to generate revenue Track record of success in managing large client relationships and leading teams Experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Keen interest and commitment to help others succeed

The role will be a hybrid role based in Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Tampa or United States.

Compensation and Benefits 

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation 
 
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $145,000- $220,000 USD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
