The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgiaโs public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.
Job Description
Job Title: Director, Office of Children, Young Adults, and Families- Atlanta
Pay Grade: SE
Job Summary:
+ Manages the CYF Community Mental Health Budget.
+ Develops annual strategic plan for C&A community health services delivery system.
+ Writes policy for CYF MH services and participates on the oversight team.
+ Coordinates with Director of Federal Grants and Suicide Prevention on formulating Block Grant services and deliverables as it relates to CYF MH.
+ Coordinates with Director of Federal Grants and Suicide Prevention on identification of federal grant funding for CYF MH initiatives.
+ Act as CYF MH lead for Constituent Services issues.
+ Participate on the State Council for Mental Health Services and complete appropriate reporting requirements.
+ Serve as state level liaison for child & adolescent mental health issues and participate on corresponding task forces as required/requested/needed.
+ Participate on the national child and adolescent mental health task force/committee comprised of state level CYF directors.
+ Provide legislative analysis for issues pertinent to CYF Mental Health, including but not limited to first reader team participation, participation in legislative hearings as requested, and fielding initial calls made into the CYF mental health office and communicating with office of external affairs.
+ Liaison with Regional Service Administrators to ensure continuity and communication.
+ Maintain broad oversight of Clinical initiatives.
+ Work collaboratively across DBHDD divisions to ensure continuity and communication.
+ Lead facilitator of outreach to advocacy community.
+ Coordinate and facilitate required provider meetings to ensure continuity and communication.
+ Monitor CYF service utilization, requirements and provide overall planning for ongoing utilization and guidelines.
+ Participate on the CYF Quality Committee that reviews poor performing providers.
+ Lead contact for systems of care planning and initiatives.
