Job Description:
The objective of this position is to support operation excellence function, drive process improvement and support digital transformation programs for customer onboarding value stream in Asia, aimed towards making NB UW operations efficient and customers centric. The role will help to create a signature experience for customers, agents and staff involved in New Business & Underwriting function through a combination of Process standardization, Lean, Workflow, and other technology implementation in different markets.
Major Accountability:
Demonstrate thought-leadership in formulating and executing strategic plans on program execution, process governance and excellence for Onboarding value stream.
Ensure successful delivery of regional business process improvement, Operational efficiency and Customer centricity projects using LEAN, Six Sigma methodology.
Leverage Lean methodology and design efficient business processes in order to improve the customer experience, organizational efficiency and eliminate nonvalue add tasks
Analyze a range of complex problems across Point of sale, Underwriting, Issuance identifying process inefficiencies, areas for improvement and automation opportunities utilizing a range of different solutions like Workflow, AI- OCR, Automated Underwriting.
Work with the transformation teams of local markets in helping them to set efficient processes and achieve metrics targets.
Lead the Digital initiatives for Asian market interfacing with the Local business and IT team across intake, implementation, and support.
Run different workshops to support all types of projects (Process Improvement, System Implementation) and work with local markets to create standard processes and ways of working.
Design, manage and implement change management initiatives to manage the change journey throughout the conceptualization, development and implementation of new processes and systems.
Leverage data analytics knowledge and background to enable continuous improvement of the underwriting TAT (Turn-around-time) and accuracy of the decisions.
Ensure consistency of underwriting decisions across different channels and underwriting methods to ensure and support the omni-channel underwriting experience.
Specialized Knowledge
Proven and in-depth experience in process excellence, change management and project management preferably in insurance.
A strong facilitator with a delivery and execution background with proven experience of taking ownership.
A strong business improvement toolset and experience defining and implementing best practice - Master Black Belt/Black Belt/Lean/Human Centered Design.
Extensive project management and facilitation experience with project management certification – PMP/Prince 2.
Ability to engage at both Cx level as well as at operations floor level and adapt approaches to drive change.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
Domain knowledge on Operations/Technology/Strategy within the Insurance business would be critical for the role to able to add value and partner with the business sponsors.
Experience in workflow automation, business rules engine and business process management is preferred.
Education and Experience:
Graduate or above
At least 12-13 years of experience in Insurance and majority of the same should be in process re-engineering, business transformation, digital transformation
Experience in end-to-end journey design and process mapping across different business areas and technical systems
Prior experience in working on NB UW transformation projects will be an asset.
