Director, Operations Initiatives

This is a Hybrid role based out of our Hub locations in New York, NY.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $149,000 - $186,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

Job Purpose/Overview

The Director of Operations Initiatives leads and develops a high-performing team responsible for driving strategic projects and standardizing project management practices across the Lab Operations organization. This role focuses on aligning key operational initiatives with business goals, managing project governance, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The Director will also lead continuous improvement efforts, optimize resources, and maintain effective communication with executive leadership.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and other professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth.Develop and execute operational plans for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and motivating the team to achieve these goals.Establish and oversee project management standards, governance, and methodologies, coaching team members on best practices and quality standards.Foster strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate with project teams, functional leaders, and external partners to achieve project success.Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes of strategic projects and portfolios to stakeholders and executive leadership, while encouraging transparent communication within the team.Monitor project portfolio health, including budget adherence, resource allocation, and risk management, while actively engaging the team in problem-solving and process optimization.Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, empowering the team to contribute ideas and innovations.Facilitate training and development opportunities for team members, supporting their professional growth and adherence to best practices in project management.Other duties assigned

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or a related fieldProject Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification preferredExperience within a human or animal health lab operations setting preferred8-10 years of project manager experience preferred 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong organizational, strategic planning, and analytical skills with experience in managing multiple priorities and fostering team cohesion.Extensive experience in project management, PMO leadership, and strategic initiatives, with a track record of successful people management.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire both team members and senior stakeholders.Demonstrated capability to build cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding.  The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The associate is frequently required to hear and speak to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office or virtual environment.  The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment or a remote home office.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, video conferencing and the Internet.  The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.  The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.   Environment where pets are present
