Role impact:
Responsible for guiding the management and governance of facility operations, maintenance, operations capital planning/execution/governance and working closely with property teams to ensure company standards, industry best practices are maintained, and that they appropriately reflect local property requirements and nuances.
What you will deliver:
Actively participate in building operational efficiencies across the Office portfolio including standardization of operations, such as hours of operation, security and life safety systems, janitorial services, vertical transportation, preventive maintenance, and waste management Engage in national building operations standards including major building systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, vertical transportation, lighting, parking, roofing, flooring, base building networks, building and energy automation etc.), while liaising with property teams to ensure local nuances are appropriately considered Provide input to national standards for facility maintenance optimize “total cost of ownership” Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to provide subject matter expertise, and to ensure that local property nuances are appropriately considered In collaboration with the Office leadership teams, oversees the implementation of the operations strategy to ensure operating efficiency, while delivering a consistent level of service at each property Ensure the optimization and efficiency of the planning, and execution of the annual operating capital plans. Liaise with property teams to ensure property business requirements are appropriately reflected in national standards and strategic direction. Liaise with Office leadership teams, finance, procurement, to build efficient annual operating capital plans Lead Project Managers, and liaise with vendors/ consultants/ contractors to execute annual operating capital plans Informal coach and technical resource to office operations teams (Operations Managers) Execute annual operating capital plans Active participation on working teams for building national standards and programs, or continuous improvement initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies or enhanced client experiences Attract, develop and retain a high performance team Create a culture of collaboration across head office business departments and property teams, while governing with credible “functional expertise” and decision making to meet national operating performance goalsWhat your strengths are:

Post-secondary education (or equivalent business management qualification) in engineering discipline (mechanical/electrical) or Business. MBA an asset. Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in operations management, ideally in a commercial real estate environment/properties of complex scope (i.e. large, mixed-use facility) Professional accreditation/certification in RPA (BOMI Institute) or Power Engineering 3rd Class Proficient in accounting including the development and administration of capital and operational budgeting across a portfolio Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations pertaining to the area of operations (i.e. ASHRAE, Building Code, Electrical Code)Why you should join us:
