What you’ll be doing

The Director, Organization Design & Effectiveness is accountable for providing leadership, consultation and expertise in the design, development and delivery of operating models as well as strategic talent and OD projects, which are typically focused on the top layers of the organization.  Key accountabilities include the end-to-end consultation and facilitation of key phases in talent related operating model design and all phases of an organization design project including strategic positioning, quantitative and qualitative assessments, development of design options,  recommendations, implementation and strategic communication. The role also supports the Senior Director, Organization Design and Effectiveness with work related to continuous improvement of methodology, processes,  tools and  best practice research and other enterprise/HR initiatives requiring ODE subject matter expertise or support.

How you’ll succeed

Organization Effectiveness - Provide operating model and organization design consultation and expertise to Business and Functional across the enterprise to create optimum ways of working, structure and roles to deliver on leaders’ mandates and objectives. Conduct in-depth and proactive organization effectiveness reviews to identify design opportunities that will enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  Lead complex/high impact end-to-end initiatives ensuring consistent application of CIBC Organization Effectiveness Principles and methodology; measure and track expected outcomes for purposes of enterprise organization effectiveness metrics reporting. Capability Building – Build capability within the HR community through proactive consultation, subject matter expertise and guidance and communication on ODE processes and tools.  Support the development and delivery of organization design effectiveness workshops to transfer knowledge of operating and organization design principles and practices.  Act as the key relationship point of contact for Line HR and/or business/functional group leaders on organization design and effectiveness issues or concerns.Operational Efficiency – Contribute to the on-going development and consistent application of the Organization Design Effectiveness framework by making improvement recommendations to existing processes, tools and materials and by continually testing the materials with HR professionals and business/functional leaders.  Ensure organization effectiveness principles are consistently applied in all relevant projects ensuring business/ functional specific design criteria is in alignment with the business/functional strategy and goals.
