Position Details:

The Director Payroll is responsible for leading all aspects of North American payroll delivery and compliance including regular payroll, variable pay programs, foreign assignment payroll, garnishments, and payroll tax. Provides payroll support and guidance to international businesses to support global expansion. Stays on top of current market trends to bring cutting edge, innovative solutions to the organization.

This is a hybrid role in our Lake Forest, IL office. You will report to VP, HR Operations.

You Will: Create the vision and strategy of the Payroll function Lead accurate and timely execution of all payroll activities, including payroll tax payments and filings, and customer support of varying complexity Apply and support global taxation in support for expat/inpat team member assignments. Provide oversight for 3rd party vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in multiple countries. Expert regarding payroll concepts, regulatory changes and tax laws, including proactively monitoring and driving issues to quick resolution (payroll, garnishments, taxes, time & attendance issues, etc.). Create or define required reporting, analysis and audits for all internal and external parties. Participate in cross-functional M&A projects, leading through payroll integration efforts. Review and improve payroll policies and procedures, including the ability to interpret new legislation impacting payroll. Provide leadership and guidance to leaders and team members, assign performance objectives and support team development (leader of leaders). Oversee the execution of payroll special events/activities (I.E. year end, escheat processing, special payments, etc.). Review and analyze current payroll, deductions and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations You Have: 7+ years HR leadership, ideally across HR, Payroll functions. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to interpret data. Strong management skills in addition to a solid and thorough understanding of Local, State and Federal payroll laws and taxes. Demonstrated experience managing information systems to support business processes. Demonstrated experience directly managing a team of people. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in HR processes and supported technology applications with demonstrated ability to learn new software applications related to HR Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.  Must have the ability to determine needs, identify solutions, obtain buy in and support, and implement solutions. Ability to work within a high volume, fast-paced environment. Demonstrates the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct. SAP HR experience. Experience in project management and planning, with the ability to prioritize projects and manage resources to a timely, cost effective solution Proficient in Word and Excel. Rewards and Benefits:
