Position Summary:

United Way Winnipeg is seeking a Director, People & Culture who will lead and support our organization in achieving its people objectives and strategic outcomes. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance and Internal Services and working closely with our Executive Leadership team, you will play a crucial role in building the people and culture capability of United Way Winnipeg. You will have the unique opportunity to align your HR leadership expertise with meaningful social impact, directly contributing to building a stronger, more inclusive Winnipeg.

Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Leadership: Provide strategic oversight and management of all HR functions and operations, ensuring alignment with United Way Winnipeg’s vision, mission, and values and incorporating People & Culture best practices and trends People Development: Implement and support our Career Framework, Performance Review & Development Framework, and Leadership Development Framework to enhance individual capabilities and cultivate a positive working environment for all Employee Engagement & Relations: Lead initiatives to support employee engagement, culture alignment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, facilitating open communication and providing guidance to leaders across the organization. Talent Management: Develop and maintain an employee value proposition to attract top talent, and oversee best practices in recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning. Total Rewards & Benefits: Oversee the review and enhancement of our total rewards philosophy, including employee wellness offerings and benefit administration. HR Operations & Analytics: Oversee the employee lifecycle for direct reports, and indirectly for the organization including the use of analytics,  financial management, and evaluation. Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations and develop HR policies and procedures that support organizational needs, including occupational health and safety. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressively senior HR roles, with a proven track record in HR strategy development and delivery. Experience in organizational and leadership development, preferably within both unionized and non-unionized environments. Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field; CPHR certification is required. Applied knowledge of Manitoba employment law and HR Information Systems. Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills, with a high level of initiative and attention to detail. Why Join United Way Winnipeg?
