Why this role is important?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services, the Director is responsible for supporting the Patient Care Services programs in the Chronic Disease Management portfolio across Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaw Drugstore Pharmacies.

As the Director, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for the chronic disease management portfolio, driving innovation and delivering exceptional patient care. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of pharmacy practice, regulatory landscapes, and the evolving healthcare ecosystem.

What You'll Do

Key Accountabilities:

Portfolio Strategy & Leadership:Define and champion the strategic vision for chronic disease management and medication review programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and evolving patient needs.Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive portfolio roadmap, outlining key initiatives, resource allocation, and success metrics.Monitor the competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion.Program Development & Execution:Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of innovative programs focused on enhancing chronic disease management and patient outcomes.Collaborate with Pharmacy Services, Marketing, PC Health, Digital Pharmacy, Professional Affairs, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure seamless program delivery and achieve impactful business results.Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Foster inter-professional collaboration and advocate for scope expansion through active engagement with the Professional Affairs teams.Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.Performance Measurement & Reporting:Establish robust metrics and reporting frameworks to track program performance and measure patient outcomes.Analyze program data and present insights to senior leadership, highlighting successes, identifying areas for improvement, and informing strategic decision-making.Regulatory Compliance & Advocacy:Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant pharmacy regulations, guidelines, and reimbursement models.Ensure all program activities and materials adhere to provincial and national standards, collaborating with legal and compliance teams as needed.

What You'll Need: 

This is a leadership role that demands strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for leveraging pharmacy expertise to optimize patient care and drive positive health outcomes.

Education:  University degree in Healthcare or Business field, Pharmacy degree would be an assetExperience:  7+ years of relevant experience in healthcare program development (consumer or healthcare professional focused) in a corporate or retail pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, government or healthcare organization.Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, experienced in establishing relationships at all levels Strong communication skills with the ability to develop presentations and deliver them to all levels of the organization in an engaging and meaningful way, adjusting to the audienceThe ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to collaborate and develop programs and initiatives and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Business Acumen and Analytical Skills:  strong business, financial and analytics acumen.  Consistently exercises sound judgement, ability to assimilate information from many different sources and develop sound strategic options. Superior knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Excel  Innovative thinker:  proactive self-starter and innovative thinker with the ability to identify and propose new ideas to drive portfolio growthAdaptable and Resilient: above-average ability to handle complex and competing priorities, flexible and aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment. An agile and flexible mindset to adapt to changing business priorities.
