Job Title: Director, Portfolio & Decision Analytics
Reporting to: Senior Director, Forecasting & Portfolio Analytics
Position Description Summary:
• Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Forecasting and Portfolio Analytics, you will lead forecasting programs centered around decision analytics for the CSL Behring portfolio.
• You will use your experience in decision sciences and analytics, paired with industry insights, to lead process improvements and enhance decision analytics capabilities, strengthening the decision-making framework
• You will be a trusted partner, both within the Global Forecasting & Portfolio Analytics team and across the organization, integrating the latest advancements in decision sciences to support strategic goals and enhance analytics-driven insights
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Establish processes for decision quality assurance to ensure that decisions are based on sound analysis and aligned with organizational goals
• Lead the development of decision analysis models to support organizational decision-making
• In-depth knowledge of decision science framework & algorithms, including Decision Quality, to help with portfolio valuation & optimization, investment analysis, resource allocation, risk management, guiding strategic investment decisions, balancing risks and returns to maximize value
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, commercial, finance, and Strategy to integrate decision insights into the annual long-range planning process and other strategic plans
• Represent and lead special projects/initiatives for the forecasting function; leverage internal forecasting standards as needed and triangulate inputs from other I&A functions, commercial development, R&D, pricing & access, and strategy to help with decision-making
• Support to ensure the strategic fit of opportunities coherent with CSL Behring´s TA strategy
• Stay updated on the latest developments in decision science, analytics, and pharmaceutical industry trends and regulatory changes, advancements in forecasting and analytics methodologies, and ensure our portfolio remains competitive and aligned with market needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in forecasting and analytics methodologies within the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Drive continuous improvement in decision analytics capabilities within Forecasting COE; support identification of talent gaps within Forecasting COE and develop training programs to enhance team capabilities in decision science methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with preferred focus in a scientific or business field (decision sciences, finance, analytics, economics, analytics/statistics or related). Post-graduate qualifications preferred.
• 10+ years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry working across multiple therapeutic areas; plus at least 6+ years or experience running/leading forecasting/analytics teams in biotech/pharma industry
• Proficiency in decision modeling tools and techniques, statistical analysis software, and data visualization tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
• Strength in storytelling, data visualization, and developing effective presentations
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a lean organization; Experience working in multi-site/global environment
• Experienced with multiple forecasting & BI tools including Flexicast, Forecast Pro, Decision Suite/@Risk or any monte carlo simulation tools, Tableau, QlikSense etc.
• Experience with multiple epi, sales, and syndicated datasets such as Oracle EpiDB, Datamonitor, Clarivate, Evaluate Pharma, Globaldata, IQVIA, Symphony, ADIVO, GERS, UNOS etc.
• Experience working with Rx, patient claims, pricing (WAC) and managed markets data sources (e.g. IQVIA, SHS, MMIT, Komodo, Clarivate, IPD Analytics)
