The Work You'll Do:

The Director, Strategic Pricing and Packaging will shape Sovos’ product strategy and optimize enterprise value while maintaining market competitiveness. This role is responsible for developing and executing pricing and packaging strategies that drive revenue, profitability, and market share.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this leader will ensure pricing models are competitive, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. This position reports to the VP, Product Transformation and manages a team of analysts and individual contributors.

More specifically, you will:

Define and execute pricing and packaging strategies to enhance revenue, profitability, and market position. Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to align on monetization strategies and communicate pricing updates to executives. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to develop innovative, consumption-based pricing models. Conduct competitive analysis and collaborate with Finance to model the impact of pricing changes on revenue and profitability. Design and run pricing experiments to validate strategies, optimize performance, and ensure scalability across global markets. Oversee pricing governance, including operational initiatives such as annual price adjustments, promotions, and discounting. Ensure pricing and packaging strategies are effectively communicated and implemented across teams.

What We Need From You

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred. 10+ years of business experience, including 5+ years in pricing strategy (preferably in SaaS). Strong analytical skills with expertise in pricing models, financial analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Experience developing and implementing consumption-based or outcome-based pricing models. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to executives. Strong understanding of SaaS market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and global pricing considerations. Experience with pricing governance, including discounting strategies, promotional pricing, and annual price increases. Proficiency in relevant financial modeling, analytics, and business intelligence tools. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic/international) to Sovos locations and events Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire

At Sovos, we are committed to offering competitive pay and benefits that reflect both industry and market standards.   

 We expect that this role will pay a base salary that ranges between $150,000 and $200,000 annually.  Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.  While we are committed to giving an overview of compensation, salary is just one component of our comprehensive Total Rewards package.  We offer a host of additional benefits, which include:
