Job Description
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As the Director of Pricing & Contracting Governance, you will play a vital role within the US Market Access Operations team. You will oversee and manage the pricing committee process, ensuring that pricing and contracting strategies are thoroughly reviewed, evaluated, and approved. You will ensure that all proposals adhere to high-quality standards, format, and structure before cross-functional teams and US Commercial leadership review them. Additionally, you will guide the cross-functional review and approval process, ensuring efficient, transparent, and effective decision-making.
This role will collaborate closely with Market Access Operations teams, FP&A, and Accounting to manage GTN forecast assumptions and explain actual GTN trends.
Work location: Foster City, California (in office 3 days a week)
Responsibilities Include:
Process Oversight: Lead and manage the end-to-end pricing committee process, ensuring all pricing and contracting decisions are reviewed according to established guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all documents and presentations meet high-quality standards and are ready for executive review.
Cross-functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for managing pricing and contracting governance across departments, including Finance, Legal, Market Access Strategy, Field Account Managers, Sales, Government Affairs, and Public Affairs, promoting collaboration and clear communication.
Governance and Compliance: Establish and manage governance frameworks to ensure all pricing and contracting decisions align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve the pricing committee process to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Promote the use of innovative process management solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate smooth and timely approvals. Proactively address and resolve issues to prevent decision-making delays.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of pricing and contracting decisions and their rationales. Regularly communicate with stakeholders before and after committee meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
OR
PhD and Eight Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to navigate internal organization/processes, mobilize key stakeholders, and engage both colleagues. Able to influence without direct authority
Strong communication skills with executive-level presence and ability to break down complex situations into a simple story and recommendation
Highly resourceful and process-oriented individual with operational rigor and strong project management capabilities
Demonstrated consistent cross-functional collaborator and business partner, directly contributing to teams to achieve overall objectives
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment
Deep understanding of the US healthcare environment and the payer/reimbursement space.
Strong GTN background and understanding of key drivers and ability to identify trends
Strategic enterprise thinking
8+ years of growing responsibility with broad exposure to multiple functions
High proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Foster City-based and willing to travel as needed
