We are seeking an accomplished and strategic **Director of Procure-to-Pay (P2P)** to lead and evolve our end-to-end purchasing and payables function. This is a critical leadership role within our Finance organization, responsible for overseeing the company’s procurement-to-payment lifecycle—including vendor onboarding, PO creation, invoice processing, and payment execution. This individual will drive operational excellence, implement scalable processes, and partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment with our financial goals and organizational growth. The ideal candidate has experience leading complex AP and procurement operations at a large public or high-growth company, a strong understanding of ERP systems (NetSuite/Deacom preferred), and a proven track record of managing both in-house and outsourced teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all Procure-to-Pay operations, including vendor master data management, purchase order creation, invoice approvals, and timely payments.
+ Lead the execution of payment transactions (ACH, wires, checks, corporate cards) while ensuring controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
+ Optimize the P2P process by identifying and implementing automation opportunities, system enhancements, and workflow improvements across platforms.
+ Manage a high-performing team of professionals, providing mentorship, development, and performance management to drive accountability and results.
+ Build strong partnerships with Finance, Procurement, IT, and Operations teams to ensure seamless coordination and issue resolution.
+ Maintain and enforce company-wide policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and internal control compliance.
+ Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making, performance analytics, and vendor performance tracking.
+ Lead the successful month-end close process for Accounts Payable and related accruals; support audits and internal reporting as needed.
+ Ensure consistent and timely communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors, providing best-in-class service and issue resolution.
+ Negotiate payment terms and collaborate with Treasury to support cash flow optimization strategies.
+ Lead P2P-related initiatives and cross-functional projects, including systems integration and expansion to new sites or business units.
**Qualifications:**
**Skills and Requirements**
+ Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Procure-to-Pay, Accounts Payable, or Finance Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
+ Strong track record of managing in-house and outsourced/shared service teams across locations.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite and Deacom preferred) and AP automation tools.
+ Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and system implementation projects.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ High attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume environments with accuracy.
+ Hands-on leadership style with ability to mentor and build high-performing teams.
+ Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current on P2P best practices and compliance standards.
+ Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
