Position Summary
Lead procurement strategy globally for packaging materials (and also directed buy packaging strategy for Third party manufacturing, where applicable). Business partner with divisional GM’s and functional leads to build a portfolio strategy for packaging materials across all divisions of the enterprise with a 3-year rolling road map: Hair Removal, SunCare, Femcare, Skin care & Grooming across North America, Europe, APAC, Latam & Distributor markets. Collaborate with the procurement COE to deploy COE/Category interplay model across subcategories within packaging across the S2P cycle. Engage with senior stakeholders in Finance, Operations, development, and ESG to meet sustainability goals. Collaborate with peers globally to develop and deploy portfolio strategies suitable for various markets. Sponsor Risk management for the PLT. The role reports into the Senior Vice President-Head of Procurement and will lead a global team of 7-9 teammates.
Specific Accountabilities
Develop and deploy Procurement strategy and sourcing of Packaging materials globally to meet enterprise objectives. Responsible for driving future fit Procurement for EPC with a mindset of creating opportunity globally for all packaging portfolios. Partner with procurement COE across the entire S2P cycle. Drive cost improvement programs and land in respective business units. Demonstrate understanding of relevant supplier markets and deliver procurement performance targets YoY. Drive contract board governance for packaging portfolios in collaboration with COE. Partner with legal and portfolio leaders for supplier performance-based contracts. Drive compliance to contract SOA. Lead supplier relationships and business reviews and collaborate with stakeholders for governance. Drive continuous improvement opportunities by partnering with the DTV team. Collaborate with Head of ESG for achieving EPC goals in respective portfolios. Globally engage with procurement directors in Europe and Asia to meet geography specific requirements for these portfolios. Act as a catalyst and role model in procurement to enable business expectations. Be a leader within the Procurement team and participate at the Procurement Leadership level. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
10-15 years progressive experience in strategic sourcing in direct materials, packaging. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related technical field.10+ years of relevant experience with Consumer Goods Company, working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Deep experience in procurement sourcing with responsibilities for category management in S2P cycle. Negotiation expertise and experience across multiple types of scenarios; blend of strategic and scrappy mindset. Proven track record of working within multiple executive level stakeholders to deliver results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including total cost analysis. Strong supplier relationship development and packaging industry experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and team management; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Ability to interface with executive management; good communication skills, specifically in managing change. Capable of modeling Edgewell’s leadership competencies. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a direct team and to drive change across functions through influence. Knowledge of advanced procurement analytics and tools (e.g., cost modeling, price regression analysis, scenario planning, etc.). Substantial experience defining, implementing, and monitoring key performance indicators/scorecards for suppliers given tools currently in place. Actively engage stakeholders in the process to ensure the relevant indicators are tracked.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Professional qualification/certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM/CPSM, APICS) would be an added advantage.
Working Environment
Report to SVP Global Procurement – key relationships internally will include Business unit stakeholders including Finance heads, CSCO, GM, Supply Chain, R&D, Logistics. Circa 20% travel Physical requirements – Office/hybrid environment (based out of our Shelton, CT, Milford, CT, or St. Louis, MO office)
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
