Director, Product Engineering

Position Overview 

As the Director of Product Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product design, implementation and delivery processes and leading the transition to a platform-centric approach. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, strategy and customer success, to deliver exceptional value to our clients. This role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  

 

The Responsibilities of the role include: 

Technical Leadership and StrategyDefine and execute the long-term technical product engineering strategy aligned with company goalsLead a high-performing engineering team of 10-15 technical professionalsDrive technical decision-making and Product Engineering direction for the Gryphon One platform and capabilities Product Development and ExecutionEnsure the deployment and execution of the full software development lifecycle across Product EngineeringEnsure high-quality software delivery through agile methodologiesParticipate directly in software development activities, including writing and reviewing product code as appropriate.Manage cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, strategy and operations teamsImplement and maintain best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and deployment processesTeam Development and CultureBuild and mentor a world-class engineering teamCreate a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellenceImplement professional development programs and career growth opportunitiesFoster an inclusive and collaborative engineering environmentPerformance and OptimizationEstablish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering teamsOptimize system performance, reliability, and scalabilityManage technical debt and ensure sustainable development practicesThoughtfully integrate GenAI co-pilots into a commercially licensed offering for productivity improvements including:  Code Generation, Debugging, Code Refactoring Suggestions, Documentation Generation and Test Case Creation.Drive cost-effective engineering solutions

 
Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of public cloud platforms, Artificial Intelligence, APIs, architecture, software development lifecycle, and operational best practices.Experience with microservices, containerization and scalable infrastructure.Experience modernizing and refactoring legacy software components on a commercial SaaS platform.Ability to think strategically, understand market dynamics and drive product innovation.Exceptional leadership, team-building skills and cross-functional collaboration.Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Experience deploying products using Google AI technologies such as Gemini and Vertex AI preferred.
