Director, Product Management, API Consultancy and Standards - Mastercard Developers

Overview
Mastercard Developers is the single gateway for Mastercard partners to access a diverse range of payment, data, loyalty, and security APIs. The team is responsible for delivering an experience that ensures developers can quickly find the right API, assess its technical capabilities, and integrate it into new and innovative solutions.

Your role will be to manage API governance. This role requires you to work across various product and engineering stakeholders to ensure our services are delivered with the highest quality and performance standards. Additionally, you will work with Mastercard’s Product Managers on ways to improve the quality of their APIs for the developer community we serve.

Role
•\tDevelop and communicate the product vision and strategy for API governance, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends
•\tConduct market research to identify developer needs, industry trends, and competitive analysis
•\tJuggle the interests of multiple stakeholders, including developers, internal end-users, and business unit leaders
•\tPerform analysis on Mastercard’s APIs, reviewing performance against our standards and identifying areas of improvement for product teams
•\tIdentify areas for continuous improvement, including opportunities for automation, self-service or process efficiency
•\tFacilitate regular sessions with all product teams to review API Governance objectives and improvements
•\tProvide ad-hoc reporting for senior management regarding the status and quality of Mastercard’s APIs
•\tIdentify opportunities, where possible, to sell/market our programs externally

All About You
•\tUnderstanding of APIs, programming languages, and software development principles
•\tAbility to develop and implement long-term strategies for API governance
•\tAbility to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
•\tExcellent verbal and written communication to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•\tExperience in agile based product development
•\tTechnical competence in the areas of APIs and payments
•\tAbility to quickly understand, assess, simplify and articulate complex business and technical challenges/solutions
