POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and vision for our product lines, ensuring alignment with our overall business goals. You will lead a team of product managers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on execution to deliver exceptional products that meet market needs and exceed customer expectations. The role will own the category P&L to develop a product portfolio that drives growth while optimizing profitability. Portfolio management activities include product development coordination, commercialization support, and product life cycle management. The Product Manager will articulate and formalize the product strategy to the organization and drive the execution of the strategy. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the product strategy and multi-year product roadmap in alignment with the company’s goals and vision. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform product direction. Drive alignment within the organization, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and executive leadership team to the product strategy.
Product Development: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, including market research, product planning, development, launch, and post-launch evaluation. Work closely with engineering, program management, operations, sales, and marketing teams to expeditiously deliver high-quality products. Be the product expert; providing technical expertise, training, and product knowledge to all areas of the organization in support of category growth objectives.
Customer Focus: Leverage market analysis, competitive knowledge, and customer research to define and validate strategy and detailed product plans for your category. Ensure products address customer pain points and deliver a compelling value proposition.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that will ensure successful product introductions and customer relationships. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Sourcing and Marketing teams to support various customer, product, and branding initiatives. Partner with Sales, Operations & Planning teams to support demand forecasting process and optimize inventory management practices.
Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
P&L ownership: Own the performance of the product P&L for assigned categories by working cross functionally to stay informed and influence changes that allow the company to meet financial goals.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years’ of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
At least 6 years of strategy and delivery experience in executing products and/or experiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MBA or advanced degree
Experience in plumbing industry
COMPETENCIES:
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven record of successful product launches and team management.
Familiarity with product development methodologies (e.g., stage gate processes) and tools (e.g., Smart Sheet, Power BI).
Ability to understand technical aspects of product development.
Deep understanding of customer needs and market trends. Ability to translate customer insights into actionable product features and improvements.
Ability to make decisions aligned with the strategy, based upon a mixture of data/financial impact (analysis), experience and judgment (insights)
Exceptional project management, organizational, writing, & presentation abilities.
