Director, Product & Program Management - XR

Lab Summary:

As part of MPS (Mobile Platform Services) and SRA, you will be a member of the Immersive Experiences (IMEX) Team focusing on Framework, Runtime, SDK, Advanced Computer Vision, HW/SW Optimization for XR (AR, MR, VR) technologies, building the next generation head mounted displays & Intelligent Glasses. We are a Research Center, working on next gen technologies that impact Samsung’s vision for the next few years, while delivering the results to the imminent Commercial products.  You will be working on the Product/Program Management for XR devices, to launch commercial-level products.

Position Summary:

The XR Director of Product & Program Management will work with the XR teams in Mountain View and Suwon, to successfully launch advanced features for the XR devices. 

Position Responsibilities:

Define, manage and execute the roadmap of new features for our XR devices Collaborate and communicate the product vision with the executives  Identify opportunities, drive the new initiatives by building consensus with the stakeholders, help the engineering teams to prototype POCs, and coordinate and steer the implementation of advanced features to the XR platform, meeting the necessary KPIs Using your exceptional communication, organizational, negotiation & technical skills, you will drive features in various technical areas spanning from the core framework, runtime, display pipeline, advanced vision, UI Toolkit & animation, Avatar experiences for the XR platform Lead a small team of PMs to define, schedule and track advanced features for the XR devices, by navigating the Samsung product development process, and ship the final product features Ensure the success of the program by being a trusted partner for the executive management team

Required Skills:

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 15+ years of experience in Software Product/Program management with the knowledge of the XR technology Demonstration of strategic and tactical thinking and execution High proficiency in full software development cycle, from requirements, prototyping, implementation, testing and delivery to customers Experience in bringing clarity, aligning expectations, with excellent cross organizational communication Experience with XR devices such as Quest, Vision Pro, Pico, Vive, HoloLens and Magic Leap Familiarity with Android OS and an understanding of XR software platforms, covering the display graphics pipeline, framework, runtime, computer vision and AI/ML Experience with Avatar solutions, with tracking of head, hands, eyes and facial expressions Familiarity with the Android developer & UI toolkit, profiling/debugging tools, build systems etc. Strong teamwork, communication skills, passion, productivity, and self-learning ability Mentor, guide and lead team members to successfully execute multiple tasks on time Proven ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasked environment Proficiency in agile process such as sprint planning, retrospectives and daily scrums Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.Base Pay Range$200,000—$300,050 USD
