. Work closely with senior business leaders, including product owners, data engineers, IT, Operations, Risk Management, Customer Experience, Marketing, and others. Research, track and report on federal and state legal developments related to the products within the scope of the role, staying abreast of current legal developments and trends to determine potential impact or risks. Communicate relevant items to business partners and analyze impact of any changes in the legal/regulatory landscape on the business strategy for areas of responsibility. Work with commercial attorneys to review third-party service provider agreements, including agreements with outsourced
and/or offshored service providers, to ensure compliance with CFPB standards, internal guidelines, bank-partner standards and applicable law. REQUIREMENTS Candidate must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and be qualified to practice law in a United States jurisdiction. At least 8-10 years’ experience as an attorney, with at least 5 years’ experience in consumer financial services lending law, and at least 3 years’ experience advising on product and loan originations. In-house experience strongly desired. In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws governing bank partner consumer lending, including consumer protection regulations, including, but not limited to, TILA, FCRA, FACTA, ECOA, UDAAP, and FDCPA. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with regulators and internal stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities set by the business while still meeting internal department goals. Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies. Ability to persuade and influence management at all levels, including executive management. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and positive professional attitude. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Ability to travel approximately about 10% of the time
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,400 - $240,600
The base salary offer will be determined based on individual job-related factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and work location.
