The Director, Proposal Strategy and Development provides strategic direction to the Custom Proposals and Content Team (CPC) through:
• identifying and addressing business issues and opportunities
• providing business intelligence and planning support for Specialty segment;
• partnering with senior leaders to ensure the Proposal team supports and influences key strategic decisions.
The Director, Proposal Strategy and Development curates content and collaborates with business partners, subject matter experts (SME) and community-facing teams across the enterprise to build a strategy and translate that into comprehensive, winning proposals. This requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across functions and/or segments.
The Director, Proposal Strategy and Development is primarily responsible for the following:
Overseeing the development of large group Specialty proposals and related delivery activitiesEnsuring positive results in terms of quality, costs, methods, and associate resourcesCreating highly competitive responses for RFPs and finalist presentations, aligned with major business objectivesSupporting technical/ operational procedures and processesImplementing strategic plans; driving goals and objectives, and improving performance to ensure the Proposal Team is best in classHiring team members who are experts in their field, providing appropriate coaching and development for team members to ensure their continued performance, and building a healthy team cultureCore Scope/Responsibilities include:
Managing the overall response process to public or private issued RFPs/RFIs, including full-scale project management, written narratives, and production necessary for final external delivery. That specific scope of work includes:pre-bid strategy buildcapture managementproposal development and submissionfollow-up and finalist presentationsprotest consideration, andpost-award debrief/competitive intel gathering.Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience5+ years of technical experience with proposals and/or go-to-market strategy5+ years of management experienceSales experience preferredKnowledge or experience with Specialty products – Dental, Vision, Life and Disability preferredAdditional Information
