The Director of Global Market Development for qPCR will lead a team of marketing professionals to develop strategy and implement marketing plans for qPCR products, solutions and ecosystem. The leader will define market segments and corresponding qPCR solutions, analyze competitive environments and formulate winning marketing strategies. Responsible for driving all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing plans to achieve growth and for launching new products, driving demand for existing products, and positioning of products and workflow solutions. Specific responsibilities include developing marketing strategies with the business leaders and commercial leaders; leading team to create and implement plans based on strategies; providing strategic direction for promotion, digital asset creation and advertising; coordination and collaboration with all regional and business marketing and sales teams; implementing talent development programs for market development staff and hiring and directing the day-to-day activities of the qPCR marketing team. The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader in life sciences and digital marketing, and with the demonstrated ability to drive innovation within organizations.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of qPCR Market Development will have responsibility to meet the business and division objectives as follows:
Serves as the marketing lead for all GSD qPCR business, providing marketing leadership, strategy and management focusing on the following areas:Product Launch Execution: working in close collaboration and coordination with product management and regional marketing, lead the team to develop and implement impactful launch plans for new qPCR products. Provide guidance to translate GTM into product launch plans and tactical execution. Set targets, measure, and iterate based on results. Product Marketing: Develop marketing strategy and plans for on-market products and sustaining activities. Monitor competition and address threats. Collect customer and commercial input and refine positioning, value propositions, and marketing plans as appropriate.Demand Generation: Find opportunities to create demand for on-market and new products and implement marketing activities to drive demand. Set and monitor demand generation targets and hold team accountable for meeting targets. Refine programs to increase demand generation.Market Development: Develop opportunities for new products and solutions workflows to help drive key strategic wins, using clear and actionable segmentation models.Customer Voice: In collaboration with commercial, regional marketing, and product management, coalesce the Voice of Customer into actionable and impactful inputs to roadmaps, applications developments and marketingCollaborates on GSD-wide marketing programs to drive awareness and demand for qPCR solutions in research, biotech/pharma and clinical segments.Increases return on investment on marketing programs through consistent operating mechanisms and utilization (and continued improvement) of division-wide marketing gate approval process and reporting function that can track, measure and analyze performanceEnsures continued focus on productivity. Increasing efficacy, efficiency while reducing costs of marketing tactics and programsProvides marketing skills and expertise to the company by building, developing and leading a marketing team capable of carrying out marketing strategies and tacticsParticipates fully in professional societies and activities related to the Life Science industries in general and the marketing profession in particularProvides matrix leadership and co-ordination of the regional market development teams across the globeKey Criteria

Brings the customer and our impact on them deeply into the organization. Understands genetic analysis research and clinical workflows of various customer segments. Leverages diverse global experience across various collaborators (researchers, academic KOLs, and clinicians) to bring relevant solutions to the market.Ability to understands the value of qPCR analysis for research, biotech/pharma, and clinical market needs. Has knowledge and understanding of other genetic analysis technologies and corresponding applications in disease areas such as Cell & Gene Therapy, Infectious Disease and Oncology/Cancer Research.Knowledge of genetic analysis and global understanding of qPCR market – customer segments (research institutions, academic labs, Pharma/Biotech, service providers, reference labs, hospitals), competitive environment, regulatory landscape and global market trends globally.Understanding of global markets and unique differences in life sciences customers in emerging markets vs. mature, regions such as Greater China vs. NA vs. EMEA, etc.Execution Mentality:

Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business. Advanced degree preferred.A minimum of 10+ years of experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in a Life Science company, with direct experience in leading successful teams with proven results.Must work effectively with scientists, clinicians, executives and leaders and staff of affiliated institutions and enterprises.Must have strong interpersonal skills and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.Global leadership experience and understanding of cultural awareness and nuances, with demonstrated success in driving global collaboration.Broad functional experience in areas of strategy and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.Pay range: $150,000 - $200,000Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $160,100.00–$240,125.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
