Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing techniques for ensuring the maintenance of quality levels for a business unit. Reviews product designs, establishes procedures and techniques for control of quality standards, directs inspection services, coordinates manufacturing and engineering, and confers with customers to define and resolve product quality problems.

General Overview

The Director of Quality is a critical role responsible for driving the organization's commitment to quality excellence. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this individual will establish and implement the strategic vision for quality management across the organization, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Director of Quality will directly lead EcoWater’s quality department and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This role ensures a Quality System standard is effectively defined and implemented. This position works with internal cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to identify gaps in processes and resources to establish world class manufacturing environments at EcoWater’s two Mississippi facilities. This role effectively communicates quality assurance expectations to support both legacy production processes as well as NPD builds, and provides independent oversight as required.

Overall Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and goals.

Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team on quality matters, ensuring that quality standards are integrated into strategic decision-making.

Lead the organization toward industry-recognized certifications and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 9001)

Engage employees across the organization on quality standards, driving a quality-focused culture.

Operational Excellence

Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems (QMS).

Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor, measure, and report on quality performance across the organization.

Ensure all departments adhere to quality processes, promoting consistency and operational excellence.

Establishes EWS Quality Dashboard and defines critical KPI’s that will be common and will drive system wide improvements. 

Assesses EWS individual factory performance against a defined quality standard and communicates gaps and helps implement improvements.

Creates quality and manufacturing documents and defines global standards around Process Failure Mode

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.

Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect product/service integrity and customer trust.

Manage audits and certifications, acting as the primary liaison for external regulators and auditors.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Provide training and resources to staff to enhance understanding and implementation of quality standards.

Customer-Centric Quality

Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction by addressing feedback and resolving quality-related issues effectively.

Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing, R&D, and Operational teams to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Promote the adoption of cutting-edge quality tools, technologies, and best practices.

Encourage innovation and implement data-driven approaches to improve product/service quality.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, business, or a related field.

Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in quality management roles, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.

Proven track record of leading successful quality improvement initiatives at a strategic level.

Certifications

Preferred certifications: Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or ISO Lead Auditor.

Skills and Competencies

Strategic Thinking: Ability to align quality goals with organizational objectives.

Leadership: Strong capability to inspire and manage diverse teams.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Analytical Skills: Expertise in data analysis and quality metrics.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Travel Requirement

Frequent travel between the Mississippi plants will be required. Tavel to Minnesota HQ will be required on occasion. Travel between Marmon Water sister facilities and key suppliers (both domestic and international) will be based on business needs.
