Director, Quality Assurance

Position Purpose:   

The Director of Quality Assurance will develop, implement, and evaluate quality assurance efforts, make recommendations, and ensure goals are met in the areas of overall service provision including: licensing, clinical and contract compliance, IDD service standard requirements, IDOH regulation, training/professional development, and data. The Director of Quality Assurance provides indirect support and oversight to all T.C. Harris program areas and departments as related to quality and compliance.

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Executive Director.This position directly supervises the Quality Assurance Assistant, Training Coordinator, and Data Entry Specailist.May provide task direction to Case Coordinators, Therapists, Program Coordinators, Program Supervisors, Assistant Program Supervisors and Direct Support Professional staff under the direction of the Executive Director.

Essential Functions:

Oversees proactive quality assurance and regulatory compliance practices. Analyzes trends, develops correction plan, and oversees implementation of process change.Develops an evaluation method to assess program strength and identify areas for improvement, prepares recommendations for review. Develops programs/processes to support the company’s strategic direction.Facilitates projects directed at process improvement. Manages completion and implementation of projects and initiatives including updating forms, processes, procedures in a manner that promotes consistent practices and meets desired outcomes of the company and monitors for ongoing compliance with quality assurance programs.Participates in internal explorations including root cause analysis of allegations of misconduct, employee injuries, and medication errors. Reviews and analyzes exploration data for trends and makes recommendations for improvement.Oversees the licensing process for all residential program areas and is versed in regulatory regulations. Acts as a liaison for licensing visits, including on-site visits and audits. Submits reports to licensing and regulatory agencies as required. Implements identified action plans related to regulator and licensing audits.Serves as project lead and facilitator for T.C. Harris accreditation process.Establishes processes for gathering and evaluating outcome data in order to measure the success of interventions, program design changes and/or staff education. Evaluates effectiveness of actions/supports. Shares findings, interpretations and recommendations with leadership. Recommends streamlined, effective record keeping methods that measure goal achievement.Flexibility to accept a wide range of assignments that support overall operations. Seeks regular feedback and maintains an open, collaborative communication style to promote employee engagement.Conducts self in positive, respectful and collaborative manner demonstrating proactive actions and decision making that foster supportive work relationships and a healthy and safe environment for the students. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external customers maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality.Complies with and positively reinforces with other expectations outlined in Company Handbook, policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Master’s Degree in a human service area of study required.A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting individuals diagnosed with emotional, mental health, neurological and/or developmental disabilities in a residential environment required.3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred.Working knowledge of procedures and practices governing RTC programs and accreditation standards.Exceptional analytical skills, communication skills, exercises good judgement, ability to work with a wide array of employees, and ability to effectively solve problems required.Proficient in Microsoft software as applicable.
