The Director, Quality Testing leads and oversees the Quality Testing department, which independently tests Cenlar’s Business Functions adherence to established policies, procedures, controls, and applicable mortgage loan servicing requirements (i.e., federal, state, GSE, and agency).
Responsibilities:
Leads and oversees the Quality Testing department, which independently tests the mortgage servicing business functions adherence to established policies, procedures, controls, and applicable mortgage loan servicing requirements (i.e., federal, state, GSE, and agency)Develops and maintains all relevant programs and procedures; ensures that all documents adhere to established Cenlar governing policiesCoordinates and shares information with line of defense partnersInteracts with and provides supporting material of testing results to Cenlar’s regulator(s) and Business Function owners, which requires sufficient understanding of the business function, the requirement, and an ability to communicate effectivelyProvides meaningful reporting to stakeholders and Cenlar’s clientsDevelops and leads a high performing team, which includes managing day-to-day operations and providing oversight, direction, and guidance to staff conducting independent risk-based testingManages budgets for applicable cost centers; interacts with FP&A to ensure information is accurate and staffing models in place for departmentsIdentifies and implements workforce metrics to assess qualitative and quantitative indicatorsEscalates issues in accordance with Issues Management process in order to ensure exceptions identified from testing receive a root cause analysis and a management action plan is created where applicable in order to ensure risks identified are appropriately managedDevelops reporting requirements (e.g., daily, weekly, and monthly) and oversees the production, review, and approval of periodic reports for first-line management and other interested parties Maintains awareness of operational changes occurring in order to determine any impact on existing operations and applicable QT test environmentProvides guidance to business unit on risk measurement content and standardsImplements strong feedback loop between Training, Business Unit, and line of defense groups to ensure staff and management are aware of results and areas for improvementSets department goals (short- and long-term) and develops strategies to meet or exceed these goalsMonitors staff workflow and identifies opportunities for process improvementOversees the management and administration of the testing platform, including implementation of queries to identify appropriate populations for testingOversees the management and administration of the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) toolMaintains a strong operational risk culture through proactive leadership, open dialogue, and transparent sharing of information with lines of business and Internal AuditAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar’s reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standardsEnsure all activities are in accordance with Cenlar’s approved risk appetite statement and applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 10 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years managing Quality Testing (e.g., Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control) teams and risk management experienceDemonstrated knowledge of mortgage loan servicing requirements, including applicable GSE, agency, state, and federal requirementsDemonstrated understanding of internal control principles, internal control testing methodologies, enterprise risk management frameworks, including what constitutes effective control designDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of business line operations and independent risk management practicesAbility to operate independently in a fast paced environmentAbility to identify internal control deficiencies and recommend potential solutions where appropriateAbility to work effectively across the organization to ensure that controls are effectively implemented and monitoredAbility to understand the nuances of complex processes and think clearly about solutions for competing prioritiesEffective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organizationAbility to plan strategically as it relates to the individual, team, and department responsibilitiesSuperior time management and planning skillsHighly motivated, team player, and self-starterTotal Rewards:
